Nature of Work: The Social Worker will report to the manager of mental health services. 5 t6 _9 T1 Q! S5 y! M! n" S. y
The position builds working relationships with New Canadian Health Network partners’ staff,
( k7 F0 q0 i/ B# E; j0 {newcomers accessing these services and other institutions and service providers. The Social 1 S8 T$ k6 N' i! P% |
Worker will assist in case planning, conferencing and providing support and advocacy as
. T: |0 Q1 D% x5 tneeded. As required, the Social Worker will assist in accessing community supports for
" Q* j8 |, N' `6 pnewcomers and their families. The Social Worker provides holistic and flexible initial * K! r6 S9 Y/ @( c2 |
assessment of life circumstances, needs, goals and aspirations and adheres to the client-

Work in partnership with settlement workers or cultural brokers to provide supplemental

Relevant undergraduate degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and

! d8 ], F4 k9 Q6 V8 m Extensive knowledge of community resources, including in depth understanding of family ( J$ c# K$ i. S' d

Experience/facility with MS Office computer applications
