, L! V  W2 ~' L" Z% w/ CAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
$ i- {) y! P  e+ A  }% E• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
+ Z% }  J( d1 s& k• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
' U7 t1 r/ R: O1 BBi /Reporting/ETL
* H: U7 W% o, p  `/ W. Z/ m6 Y• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
( A3 E8 Y' E/ T7 h0 k% Q) T% Y• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
* [5 A4 ?; @; F- x• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
7 C9 y0 G; c+ ^# V, ~* g• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
7 @! A! |, @  a• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
+ r3 b5 e+ ?+ F2 O• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
4 X) z# H- O3 P3 [+ w- {1 A7 u• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
( N) w4 h( I  V$ \3 U% h• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
! ~( o0 }  n+ P7 n1 u% U• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
9 I0 s; w( H3 ~6 R% d• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
) t+ U) r- q- E% a, h% Z- r- t, a* N• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
