: F4 n7 [" n/ yAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
5 l  x; T* T/ b, R) r2 s9 u• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
7 h5 _2 N( B" [• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
! |& l0 a" _1 Y, H3 x1 B• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
# a. ]  [! k- \8 T8 i6 r  _• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
" `  Y" d( w" }  h7 E& z• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
/ l  y( ^: [; C* G% D4 p. q) a# S• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
- B$ p4 r/ O( @# ^" w: J3 H4 n• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
" a3 |4 G. b! S1 }7 i, P' C• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
' U( H; y7 x* |% F( c$ g# I• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
6 V, ?+ x3 x0 k8 |+ x  S% t• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
: k$ G; Q9 `+ L( h1 a) r+ j4 f• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
: L- W" b! Q; w" v" P$ h" m4 ?• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
4 l$ n6 w, n- X. I) P# `7 T8 S• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
