As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

& y4 f$ E& v' }( w0 i1 oDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
% ?) Z1 q: w* \# }' z& {. Y: S• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
/ h8 Y8 U0 y  ~• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
9 A7 i9 \8 [% j. o& w7 K: d) K$ W• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.

, X6 z% G. x  d6 e• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
9 Q  H& O5 ^4 M; f1 @) k3 k• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
. ?% g: w( }* `% T) P; a+ i: ~! b$ C• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
, `, ]: v* \$ f" w! M, \• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
9 N' b% V9 S" a) \; J" o• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
. ~- |7 z% o( F9 j, P) T• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
2 [4 H0 C% @/ R5 K+ \• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
; N- J0 y' h+ |5 I8 [" [• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
4 s& Q8 [5 b4 E2 a" m3 Q+ C* r• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
$ d$ P2 Z  T5 K• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
