Position: Manager, Community Development / Status: Full time (1Year Term- Maternity Leave) / Salary: competitive & based on education and experience / Closing Date: 4:00 p.m. July 16, 2010.

Primary Purpose: Working primarily with local immigrant communities and community leaders to help them understand and engage with the communities. Nature of Work: Reporting to the Director of Settlement and Integration, the Community Development Manager is responsible for the overseeing, development and implementation of EMCN’s community development strategies." s8 g2 X9 O9 m" l7 ` @

Key Accountabilities: provide leadership training/recruiting of community practitioners to network with existing immigrant/refugee community based organizations; support them to enhance their skills and services; assist immigrant and refugee communities through training/workshops in board development, volunteer recruitment, strategic planning & community engagement; establish & maintain relationships between EMCN and immigrant/refugee communities.) R, `* U+ K3 `# X% ]0 f, @, @
2 o7 c) d3 f# U0 O( uPLUS: assist immigrant/refugee communities with identifying community needs through a needs assessment; act as a liaison between immigrant/refugee communities + mainstream organizations in order to improve awareness/understanding of the challenges facing immigrant & refugee communities; writing funding proposals and submitting reports/evaluations. Qualification: University degree or diploma in a related field such as Community Development, Economic Development, Human Ecology, Volunteer Management or related. Experience: Five plus years of Community Development experience.
