Essential Qualifications: excellent knowledge of the issue of racism in Canadian society; experience facilitating educational sessions using participatory techniques; demonstrated leadership abilities with youth; experience with project coordination; degree or diploma in human services field. Preferred: knowledge of immigrant or Aboriginal culture and/or language; experience with functioning of non-profit society.8 ?; W& Z5 i" Y; j) P. h2 B

Under the direction of the Program Manager you will:

, ^: D5 U1 s7 l. }- W$ iRecruit Volunteers – facilitate on-going recruitment of volunteers to participate in the core group of PA; this is done by inviting members of groups who are being presented to, making contact with other youth groups, and by print media, broadcast media, and e-mail invitations.# q% d+ ]+ q3 D. d/ T& N% s
5 G& G$ C" s1 P8 T$ J9 |# m" E, P: mTraining – facilitate weekly meetings of core group volunteers. Training in participatory techniques, presentation techniques, and knowledge of race-related issues.8 J9 x2 @1 ]3 N, Y. ^
" p2 k4 j5 C6 Z5 ?% o, XOrganize Presentations – advertise presentations through distribution of brochures and posters and by contacting interested groups and schools by phone, email, and mail; take requests for presentations, set up dates, and ensure adequate volunteers are present to facilitate discussion.9 Z5 V4 Z. v3 J+ U: R. d+ ]* M3 }8 z
A/ m2 x& m9 ^' e/ ~; {2 x' `Networking – attend meetings relevant to organizational mandate; create/maintain relationships with community groups, individuals, institutions that are interested in race relations.1 U6 L( e L0 s9 w& `. b$ G4 I: o
( i- ~0 q* \" M8 mProfessional Development – be informed on current issues on race relations and other areas relevant to the position.6 p; v# m% _4 f+ l

Proposal Creation – with program manager, create proposals to all funders of this project. Ensure criteria for each funder is met in each proposal. Also with program manager, create a logic model for each project with activities; short, medium, and long term outcomes; and indicators.
