Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
; q% y% a1 v9 x6 v% A7 s  g Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
2 O2 ~, m. w: U8 x7 [" y5 k% [: @4 C Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
. e& O, a  y. y& P# T Completing required paperwork.
9 y  q# Z; m2 @! `, d9 r! F Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
' w+ G* A" M  z; S6 Q/ K Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
" W9 n- p6 l- @- @- M* V Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
' A, Q, s: y2 m, h" | Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
: i: i9 \7 |+ J: T# n3 e. z Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
. }9 {2 c5 ]5 A! j. t, m, d$ k9 Ystarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
