Key Responsibilities & Duties:

' n+ s  I" [; w* a. G- E& n2 _2 W Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.

 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
( w  U5 b3 H) h" N- s7 X/ \1 |* z Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
% U: P: j: B) f; m1 A Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications:

: P+ a! K+ U! a8 d8 f Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
5 k0 C  C1 F/ n8 f Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
* I+ z; X; c' u  w Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
+ \( U0 i4 q/ b Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
/ a5 H/ R9 X; z Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
* i, z* D4 P0 o* [& X" k Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
+ _9 q6 K9 o6 ?) \/ u3 l3 estarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
