Mechanical Engineer/Specialist –Research Equipment Design

An engineering start-up, which is committed to support the R&D and industrialization of process technologies in North America with expertise and international resources, now accepts applicant for the position of Mechanical Engineer /Specialist through Industry r&D Associates program, Alberta Ingenuity.

Major Responsibilities:
6 E% }- v8 b: X, V$ s•        Process research equipment design;
•        Pilot plant design with other professional engineers;
•        Equipment fabrication guidance;
( G2 l3 s2 [/ j3 R/ c" M# g1 b  \1 Z" c•        Mechanical Codes/Standard elucidation;
, N# N3 T9 ^7 Z  S; Z# m3 v( j: S•        Others.

Qualifications:
) D) }  t  f9 s. ?( j: U* M•        Mechanical Engineering Graduate of a Master’s or PhD program within five years of application date OR graduate student expecting to complete Master’s or PhD degree requirements within three months.
( \9 B& l3 f7 \  ?9 E% S* v' I•        Equipment design experience is required;
* l5 H, G4 Q& a9 H2 y4 x2 E•        Familiar with mechanical Codes/Standards; knowledge of electrical Codes/Standards is helpful;
  F& \& q5 E* {* n' j•        Familiar with CAD software;
- Z$ p; ^( G6 K. T•        Fluent in English, and knowledge of Mandarin is useful;
% _' T3 _, b4 ?5 _- D( U•        Fabrication, engineering and postdoctoral experience are assets.

Successful applicant of Alberta Ingenuity Industry r&D Associates will be awarded a $55,000 stipend per annum and a yearly allowance of $7,000. The total award value over two years is $124,000 from Alberta Ingenuity with opportunity for permanent position and stock option from the company after two years’ term.
