The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.. r( O( B3 B1 [9 h& f( o* L3 h! }0 \
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.1 T8 h6 G6 V# E6 _+ D( i" Z
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge6 T; V3 c7 J) |3 a) E/ n
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
; H: h, E. I& K+ [( C9 |• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program." L: q+ Z7 t c4 X& |! I$ s; c
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.) A5 ` g' ^. s0 T7 Z7 {: G
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.2 m+ ^9 x6 r$ x, a( x5 X: q
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
; O; g* a# W# x" }2 i• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required6 E. p: v. \' I0 c: D9 a; X; ]

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
, N5 v. G; @. _% n• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position5 w* A) R, e( Z) O
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
! P7 Y2 X3 Y! m( g% D3 h• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate* _; ~% ?/ v6 R' D6 F
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department$ _: t( r, d2 r- V. R V
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
! ~0 ?: C* f# p8 X) K' V• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
) {& e. n- _0 K9 J$ u+ g: l• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services$ g* D% @ J+ `. c) E/ W# H9 k
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

FINANCE
( u# d$ i1 o% P3 {' q" W0 |6 n• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances) ]1 E! E" ^$ E/ s1 U5 i2 y
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS, `$ n v3 B' U; ]" e! o; P% _7 U
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers1 `' d C3 _" b; g" T6 F( D* w
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
) f7 s/ `: o0 K; z& F8 I- ?+ _$ _• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
4 X/ F% ?* s8 z% y7 Q( a/ h• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required2 M6 } V, Z9 J' V' G+ v
* u% r9 N" T$ ~0 |" [; Z* aQualifications:$ D: a2 C! t6 S( c7 D* Q; C9 e0 r
8 s3 _7 C2 @- K+ b1 K) ]9 V• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
* \9 z! Q8 ~% c/ ~3 J; ~9 G7 W• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
9 d" U1 [% r* E2 R• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills6 I' c- U$ ^6 z7 }. } X
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills . g5 U- R' y9 e9 g
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure. S6 s! R! r# s% ~9 c; ~
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects , e& z' Z# e+ S0 s6 u7 h6 B
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
