The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Job Responsibilities:

; I: [7 N7 D0 U& OOPERATIONS
; e$ w' L, I8 ?• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.% H# G2 i8 |* A. } h, P
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.; r2 I5 ]. s- o( g
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge
; P1 z2 W2 ]# o8 Y$ x8 o• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
) X* y Q/ ~+ ]) k• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
, i; |% B5 ]" b) {• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.+ B2 c# ?) Y$ F, o, e
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.7 ~+ Q% ]) S% U2 e
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities- H8 v$ c, i. I
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING
& [4 o1 H2 q& t' A• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
5 ~3 ?1 s" S- `" ~• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

% i: F( l9 R- t, z5 ^7 p) ]• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position9 |5 Q9 D3 Y: O4 N; j; Q0 Y( h* c3 I
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation1 t8 R( s$ j8 P" A* \
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate* E; D& m7 r, |
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department% y8 E( C2 f' J {+ @
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
K5 u! N& ], ?9 D v# M# I• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency* t: M' g2 a+ J2 E7 r* a* B
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances) V$ [ {: t! p! P Y% [0 b. S
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required6 L6 n) V- Y& D4 \* {
+ w' ^! `2 T, n1 G/ M9 I: x- HINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS7 O. \5 Y" |& x0 \) h- P
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers/ i9 l$ w9 r3 I
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
; }& F) |7 j# Q6 i$ u5 G* P• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate

Qualifications:3 I# ?. V1 M O9 _; r
/ L; c% A& @, b7 _8 x" S d• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
& _1 ?/ C0 J7 q2 }6 n* Q• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
j3 T4 Y* z$ C/ E4 E. G) f2 t• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
; r. I6 `/ c- M, g3 T• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects $ h: {0 Q( L6 v+ ~
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
