The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.: p) J- {% O0 l. Y6 g

OPERATIONS
& H2 h* q2 M; g3 K; l• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.. _" Z3 M8 D- \+ @
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services./ y$ m b6 h W( `* }
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge! a1 {+ R9 m6 A/ t# ~. n" n' _
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.5 d, k, }. v* O! X
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
2 F& F) P# W y) l• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
2 m- C: Q: x& f% C4 Z• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.4 Z. W0 }9 ~7 r$ r; x8 L" Q; s% q& M
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities. z" r! s. p; E' p! `' T3 @9 D! e
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

5 q+ K* e: M+ K/ e* o• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
6 G' q7 H% ^, g/ A" Q• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up, ^- E( F y5 q& Z; k

ADMINISTRATION
+ Y0 y, }, f6 i5 f$ k• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position% a& z0 Y. [0 b( p2 }0 v# f
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation' T4 v8 R7 K$ b; d, y; K1 e
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate3 d+ O$ \; U8 m5 w/ T4 u6 p
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
% l( {" }7 k. W- v3 h• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required ; m' V, J& n, s2 d$ j% b8 N0 m
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency8 k6 e+ ~. b# O2 I
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services- d N$ f* W9 d# P& r5 L" D
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes
* D+ w# L( U- p$ W3 q' f, J9 x N# m0 B& Y• Prepare a regular monthly program report: J- Y9 F5 [5 E' m

FINANCE
* M- G/ P4 C9 I" n• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
4 v$ z8 A: ]7 S% Y! K' a, D• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

8 N* n. V; ?2 YINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
+ x( Y; S; e F% \/ _ H' x0 Z• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
) n/ x1 D" N0 ^# S8 y0 ~• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta). |& ~/ R- s$ N9 I
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 1 s2 N) F/ C2 f6 c; U- D
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required3 V; m F9 f1 O' d

Qualifications:& X U; z2 f3 {# w# R, t: K
! S: u- _; b' R
• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
: ]3 G9 s U1 g7 m i) b• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability9 S5 |2 A+ B7 u9 J _
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
5 Y* O+ r) T c$ m1 v: `8 z5 e# @• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
2 K6 T9 w$ ?1 B9 H• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
# o5 v* R- R: v; y• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects ; o, u2 h+ I/ @( B e, j! [
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
