The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization.  This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

  d: S/ ?7 X5 qThis is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week.   The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.4 v- Z( N) U8 ?9 m

* M3 Z4 r% T1 M) fJob Responsibilities:

4 |! h) t, Q: j- JOPERATIONS
! L8 g4 @0 I1 t0 q# l1 {+ z•        Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
$ K* a4 I! n5 {4 E0 I8 r# E2 f) x•        Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
. m$ q# h' \( f•        Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge+ `; E( d( h& g! g9 [9 E, H
•        Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.2 G2 M4 R5 N3 r' X( G
•        Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.1 i( [# K9 Y4 @7 u; E
•        Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
. X% J8 }$ O/ C•        Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.6 K! n2 x, W$ I9 g' i
•        Facilitate placement of  practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities+ b' u" r% D' x$ M  \& d6 R7 O
•        Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required, |9 a3 r9 C( X% b) m; D5 X

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING $ o$ C' K) ], U1 k% L0 D- ~
•        Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
, R0 ?. M3 ^4 q0 s•        Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up
' Z/ ^* n/ _2 I! E* ^3 b* s( ~# |# }  o7 ~  \' I; v
ADMINISTRATION
3 {1 A5 o( b. D•        Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position4 w9 m  o: ?7 K9 p. Z2 a* Z
•        Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
  |* S* o+ e% ^, g$ l9 Z) _•        Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
: s) j+ x8 _! y* s! `' B" u* M•        Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
9 I3 s& ~. j0 |7 c% M•        Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required " v4 W! W- p% L4 C
•        Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency1 V$ V* |: y) Y
•        Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services: {* t: ~" O# C$ K; L2 Z' V6 ]- ~" E
•        Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes
* u) |* s& Q$ d' N8 i•        Prepare a regular monthly program report

6 \' [" t9 P; R# _) o7 K" r! D•        Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances, m3 e, P2 A* ^6 L  {$ l
•        Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required# Q3 d4 \* h: B7 g

* v$ ~( K, L  `# S& W1 p* rINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
- |7 I  {6 r5 a( q( ~% F; c•        Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
6 f  f. i# j9 L& e  r•        Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
/ k- D) ^' |# v5 p5 @•        Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
0 T( t1 W7 ~7 f+ R0 T0 u•        Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required6 l5 X7 |/ `; w, i. c- ^

; D! z2 L& D# D- y! ^3 M  wQualifications:1 c" d: n  Z/ J$ R6 M
& v9 u9 C  X1 C9 C! L/ J) V
•        Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination6 O; ]/ Y8 E) S, `
•        Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
" b* O: ]3 H- H% y; {) E7 x) P•        Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills) F7 U$ u$ s: N* d# t) v
•        Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills   R2 x; n! e! i  w5 q4 Q5 T
•        Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure. U7 z1 |4 s& U2 K# V% M  D
•        Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
7 S. ~" E$ m8 J•        Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
$ v; M* F; D3 A' K# S/ Q7 u- y$ u•        Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
