The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

! L8 g4 @0 I1 t0 q# l1 {+ z• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
$ K* a4 I! n5 {4 E0 I8 r# E2 f) x• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
. m$ q# h' \( f• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge+ `; E( d( h& g! g9 [9 E, H
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.2 G2 M4 R5 N3 r' X( G
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.1 i( [# K9 Y4 @7 u; E
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.

• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities+ b' u" r% D' x$ M \& d6 R7 O
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required, |9 a3 r9 C( X% b) m; D5 X

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
, R0 ?. M3 ^4 q0 s• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION

• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
|* S* o+ e% ^, g$ l9 Z) _• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
: s) j+ x8 _! y* s! `' B" u* M• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
9 I3 s& ~. j0 |7 c% M• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required " v4 W! W- p% L4 C
• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency1 V$ V* |: y) Y
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services: {* t: ~" O# C$ K; L2 Z' V6 ]- ~" E
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required# Q3 d4 \* h: B7 g
* v$ ~( K, L `# S& W1 p* rINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
- |7 I {6 r5 a( q( ~% F; c• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
6 f f. i# j9 L& e r• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
/ k- D) ^' |# v5 p5 @• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination6 O; ]/ Y8 E) S, `
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability

• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills R2 x; n! e! i w5 q4 Q5 T
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure. U7 z1 |4 s& U2 K# V% M D
• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
