The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours/week. The Volunteer Services Coordinator reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.# ]5 z5 B6 f* Q! b& I
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.6 ~5 f& z' J a
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge+ B2 ^0 F7 p. f( Q: G) U9 i
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
1 U2 V, g) u3 h* X9 V% F( R• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.5 g! h* Y, R& P$ C8 q t
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
|2 `9 z1 i: @- h; s• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.# _- Y1 X- ~+ N
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities7 J7 U4 Q3 R/ h" Q$ z6 b. _4 b
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required1 {! f4 e) Y5 F

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
2 o% G, G4 X5 v4 C+ A+ t5 [• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up( t- ?) U; \. M, t

• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position$ P. Q3 Z+ u4 \" k' @9 u# V
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
7 n- C+ u% V2 q" t• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate- }3 V' }+ V1 B
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department& G: E! R6 E) H3 e' s, X4 x
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
7 u4 u/ p% j- f• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
. D( E4 B- P# i; V$ h• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
3 n4 j+ X6 T4 z# ^' J% r, \' T6 R• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required- y& k" c0 Y1 |! {3 l
! j/ |! G) d. [' Y) h. VINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS6 H0 ?) M2 J. s; c
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers Z! {, G% W6 L3 g# \6 o& o! a8 m
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)! |2 w' c1 a) c1 b- `! X
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate ]7 [% {. {% g. v/ E
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination
V, P. d p& V9 ]4 m1 u# u! N• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability6 S/ D/ P: \5 x! x* k) v7 e
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills

• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality+ x1 s$ H% p$ R; C! W
• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
