New Program-‘ Tweenie Program’ (Ages 8-12)
Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
% h; p8 o$ u' `$ p. B) {2 d7 a: F Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
- S- m: @5 G1 ^- ?5 H5 A3 _ Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
" ^; W& K3 c+ i  H( h Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
6 u, ?  x6 [1 t$ h/ Y Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

+ Y: s- l+ A9 _& f# B Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
; C1 J2 W7 v8 \/ `6 X* i& c8 y Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
6 c7 s4 o$ g. q' {" M Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
/ r( c/ F8 K" _  g- C5 ~& G Knowledge of community resources.
% m: ?  b$ G6 J, Y  u" U Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
) }2 ^/ E4 z! `4 D, e+ a Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

( C- A, ]4 w9 dThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
4 {$ a4 r! ~( |  Zstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
