Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
" L; ?$ @. b% }' K9 I Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
; Z, r7 v8 F# J" b$ Q! w7 s" I& o Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
0 [2 D8 N2 H7 ]# @: a" Y; B Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
: V0 D, {1 [. [ Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
  t: F' L- p" l Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
2 S- @+ a1 \9 s6 Y0 x; } Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
- J4 x4 @' y7 l$ X- m Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

: v: l5 N; O( r: X Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
" o& h' K7 j$ ~$ w Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
0 _" p% K7 b' e Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
: Y# s: ?. N" Y0 d Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

# u4 L5 b/ z( M2 j  FThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
