8 ^, [ R. U2 q0 R( W* `, \, t Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
6 K4 c) V7 [) M0 y/ ]( H. [ Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
( T# c& q. d. ?$ z" T Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth." L$ o. d% \% L( i7 P
 Completing required paperwork.

 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.

) y+ n( d1 B3 A Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.

 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications:

! e8 @# R8 c' t4 [. \8 X5 t Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.$ r* P( Z) u+ a$ p" z' e4 x: Y5 h/ V
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.$ ?# b! F( Z/ W
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.; M) D: x' H: B* E* u! v. R1 l# d
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.% W" O- J8 K3 t* ]( W" m
 Knowledge of community resources.
! B9 }- [' J k" j+ F: J Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance. D! r) P* o6 | K# v3 G B$ K
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training. 4 }% N# z! X, v& o
! \7 Z& Z/ w6 l$ H9 m7 NPosition:
) L/ w p/ s! a7 L& T& b+ ]This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50; ' v N- M) Z: d
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
