Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.: c* O" s6 f8 U0 L) L
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site./ M, w3 s( `+ a; X5 V' d# i
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.4 l: [% J- X8 Z0 L0 a
 Completing required paperwork.1 R' b* S* x( m" q7 j
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.) r/ w8 M9 b& k2 d P, i$ W
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.

 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.' h) W8 g1 ?* z$ e
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.

 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.; a0 K3 k2 t- q7 A }

Qualifications:

3 S- j* \1 t3 T4 X4 g7 u Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
, _" V, y8 p, c V Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
) d) ` Z6 P- H9 H Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
# O) S3 D7 D' i X0 Q4 t- l5 }: c Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc., c4 o% I* C9 G. ]) j* @$ r; n
 Knowledge of community resources.
3 c7 a. c% T3 I( M Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.0 h) y) i( m& l* z' E% c
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
~: n; |4 K! i, G. E7 t& iThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50; ! x: {% q8 E$ K4 R
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
