Key Responsibilities & Duties:

 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
4 k8 _/ A6 m+ I1 E! ^1 s Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
5 {$ F5 ~& {" r" s# ~0 U  i Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
) [* @7 R, k3 o$ J5 t+ a9 L Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
2 U, I  i- h* B/ Q/ k Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
3 u7 X0 k  i. u( {7 v, ] Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
& L* Z' N, @2 e+ } Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
; }4 N* m, l& e6 ]' m" B- p. R! a Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
- J6 X7 l4 U8 {% c; S8 B& G7 z- j Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
% t7 V" T6 _; _There is a 3-month probationary period.
