Duties
* _5 ~8 p$ k& _+ tDelivers, sorts and picks up mail, parcels, courier documents, cylinders, crates, dangerous goods, furniture, tack boards, tables and chairs, surplus equipment, and any related incoming and outgoing items
- |% I+ |! f& h3 C1 a# d ZObtains signatures, scans traceable items into Palm Pilots upon delivery to departments
' j, v2 g, m# D; Z/ XEnsures Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations are followed on TDG shipments inbound and outbound
( x$ \: O. M9 X8 t OPrioritizes workload and requests from dispatcher and team lead' r- v( Y1 f/ r: q2 O4 D5 u
Operates University vehicles from small vans to 3-ton trucks, including standard transmissions/ J+ \+ A1 c' Z7 q
Performs related duties as required6 g+ v/ `# w% R5 A; o6 S$ M8 d6 x5 i
Qualifications
) K' ^# v! H% x2 x2 \. HValid Class 5 drivers license - the successful candidate will be required to provide a Drivers' Abstract and have completed a Defensive Driving course in the previous 2 years.
# h! p2 k8 T5 a- VHigh School diploma; previous driving experience required& f( a: z4 _7 H7 O( V
Current certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods; Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) certification
* w/ @8 B# ?; y! r% ^Training related to proper handling procedures of Radioactive and Biohazard materials
