Responsibilities
& h( N' \8 B+ y  m Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
* @8 {2 _, v( ?/ U: R/ Q. n Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
5 Q; Z  e8 H3 n Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
% i0 t# t, b* ]" P3 ^8 I$ X Social work degree or diploma
& o$ B: S0 c3 V4 U. m Current RSW designation preferred   
4 ?5 t1 `. ]5 B' Y Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
2 w) c: p" W! F  h Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
3 [& Q1 j. M( w6 {* S Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
