Responsibilities
* C( g+ `" {& q0 K Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
) }+ p2 i/ K# L5 n) T% [ Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
! t' Z0 K+ G' p* G. d) i) Z9 j Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
 Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
) [7 b4 `/ ]6 J5 q; U3 Q9 R Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

 Social work degree or diploma
8 m. c+ L, Y' N4 f$ q5 r; J Current RSW designation preferred   
  V; s3 Q% U" |  l7 s, r1 ^ Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
' W0 a- y! I# m0 S/ P( r Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
8 R( ?' o! z) }3 I$ P Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
/ O& j' g% Q3 y2 ]* N/ E  X Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
