Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
 Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
& }8 W7 |% ]' \/ x( ?% n: g Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
! b( e! c: [& P2 S) q Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
' b1 m+ e, g$ i* W6 R Social work degree or diploma
. M; `. A/ V/ _- R2 i Current RSW designation preferred   
7 [9 ^, x% t! S9 L9 W Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
0 u; V/ N- ?3 \ Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
  K6 s1 ^, V2 {: ]6 R Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
