Responsibilities
  B# b7 [+ O! @6 Z9 O4 N& J Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
; z8 s6 D9 ^$ u  \2 v1 U Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
, b* ?, a, a& C# \7 K( k* @ Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
7 x% I+ n" S( s Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
 Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
+ T7 Z2 j5 u+ g; b2 A* U2 w# }+ D Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
0 o% R( |$ F; {( y' ?/ _- x Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
) z6 y2 ?) l6 {; R Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
5 }" b7 V5 k) p0 I7 I7 }% t Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  n6 N- K4 w( t/ _. z! ~7 S3 |8 \ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
