Responsibilities

' x0 t+ `5 M9 B; M2 p Proactively and independently develop initiatives in ethno-cultural communities that ) E8 S* M2 p8 S" `
increase their capacity to participate fully in the community
# p8 {% N# n* i; Y: C6 ~ Develop initiatives that convene stakeholders, community organizations, government agencies and foster collaborations between immigrant and main-stream stakeholders. ; w/ Q! t$ j0 g$ c9 l2 @8 g& ~
 Proactively assist immigrant communities with: identifying needs, training, strategic planning, board development, project development, community economic development, funding proposal writing, program planning and implementation
; I" ?* U( t: {; N h: u% M Develop Community Economic Development initiatives and provide small business coaching to groups and individuals: h! \. u! |# Q8 M
 Facilitate group processes and workshops : x% g$ f/ `4 m; X
 Advocate for systemic changes that foster full participation of newcomers in the community

 Demonstrated ability to independently develop community initiatives

) U' z: C( v, U8 I- t1 [ Strong group facilitation skills 3 p/ o* Y2 h) I, o
 Experience supervising staff
6 @, d+ P8 F1 I6 s, V7 @5 Y Understanding of cross-cultural issues
; `# M' [* V. q# g; h0 F1 i9 I, U Excellent written and oral communication skills, including proposal writing skills + j" i2 y! h) D2 _1 \0 `
 Strong organizational and Program delivery skills5 B3 Z8 J7 i7 q( B/ J

Education/technical skills
/ ]% n; Y, Z+ a x w7 F [! e/ x- p9 r: Q+ B# y
 Post-secondary education! _. X1 K/ n& p2 T7 D( v
 Experience/facility with Windows-based computer systems (specifically Windows 95/98/2000, MS Office, MS Word, databases, spreadsheets etc.)/ T2 H3 c* G- ]

Salary range starts at $34,195.
