Responsibilities

7 b6 z6 V; A: d2 D Proactively and independently develop initiatives in ethno-cultural communities that
4 W% p, ?3 H( X% M% Q7 }; O/ Hincrease their capacity to participate fully in the community
7 @# E; N" Q- B! ?: s, r Develop initiatives that convene stakeholders, community organizations, government agencies and foster collaborations between immigrant and main-stream stakeholders. 9 t) l9 t. g+ k7 e( n9 D L
 Proactively assist immigrant communities with: identifying needs, training, strategic planning, board development, project development, community economic development, funding proposal writing, program planning and implementation
: g n4 q. O) N0 ~ Develop Community Economic Development initiatives and provide small business coaching to groups and individuals
7 l9 \0 Q% J- K- H Facilitate group processes and workshops 5 K ~2 P; A: i# [. g) ~+ g
 Advocate for systemic changes that foster full participation of newcomers in the community

 Demonstrated ability to independently develop community initiatives % Z# V) O1 k+ f7 g4 u; x: W5 K
 Community development and CED background and experience
5 C9 ]8 r: b8 l: g6 q. m Strong group facilitation skills
! x8 }3 k" _: g9 s1 S6 w Experience supervising staff8 M7 s0 ~8 v% x& \, ~% g' r
 Understanding of cross-cultural issues' w) u5 d# z& X6 Z" g, B
 Excellent written and oral communication skills, including proposal writing skills ' Z8 l4 t/ d& y4 [- D( K
 Strong organizational and Program delivery skills1 U' U! u ^1 k; W6 ~. { A
