% N/ N4 L3 O. K0 G: k! a, ]
6 P) ?7 j; a$ P7 l6 f. ^1.

Canadian Constitution that guarantees freedoms such as freedom of speech.
   http://www.edmontonchina.cn/view ... &extra=page%3D1% A" T; I. v+ t  z7 _8 Y

& {; Z- e# D. HThis week in our series, Kay Gallant and Harry Monroe discuss the campaign that came to be known as the "Red Scare."
3 `7 m3 M, R9 T9 DKAY GALLANT: These actions took place because of American fears about the threat of communism. Those fears were tied closely to the growth of the organized labor movement during World War One. There were a number of strikes during the war. More and more often, workers were willing to risk their jobs and join together to try to improve working conditions.

But official support for organized labor ended when strikes closed factories that were important to the national war effort. They told workers to wait until after the war to demand more pay and better working conditions.; i+ I5 Y. p2 p7 ]3 A9 z% g

Railroad workers, for example, wanted the national government to take permanent control of running the trains. Coal miners, too, demanded government control of their industry. KAY GALLANT: All these protests came as a shock to traditional Americans who considered their country to be the home of free business. They saw little need for labor unions. The Red Scare caused many innocent people to be afraid to express their ideas. They feared they might be accused of being a communist.
7 B; S8 k6 o( l  m0 ]) J; A4 E! @7 sBut as quickly as the Red Scare swept across the country so, too, did it end in nineteen twenty.

. H" B. U" o* i9 j; y5 _; Y4 O   人说:教人一桶,自揣九桶.我那天也想试探一下大哥的真实水平, 便问了他几个CORD中让我百思不得其解的问题. 结果,在我描述CORD条文的时候, 俺们大哥已经把章节号给我报了出来:8章106第一节(5%的含义).回答完之后,告诉我:不要吃惊,这一段我已经嚼了不下30遍." U5 [. W! t4 P) G+ {
