 Set up and monitor work experience workplace training, job shadows, etc.

 Maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for clients.

 Update clients files on Mobius computer system

Resource Room Advisor/Resume Writer5 m" k, R8 S3 D9 P. Z% H
 Provide ongoing positive encouragement and support to clients accessing the Resource Centre.2 C7 d/ j) g; c$ B
 Continuously interact with all clients in the Resource Area to ensure that their job search requirements are being met.

 Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, effective job search techniques, interview skills, and accessing the hidden job market after workshop completion.

 Engage with and build a professional trusting relationship with newcomers, treating them with dignity and in line with the values of the Bredin Institute.# @, [) O- L: W: S; L
 Support newcomers participation in the settlement program.

 Encourage independence and self determination in newcomers$ h8 {2 \/ B6 n
 Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
) W8 W# W5 f( P2 g5 ]) x, f$ H Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.3 L+ j4 N7 ~& B2 p
 Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.7 D% ^9 @% H: j5 e$ j. a
 Ensure that newcomers know and understand their entitlements.

 Represent Bredin Institute at meetings, conferences, seminars and other events

 Responsible for intake, orientation and completion of workability assessments.
$ O: G' y' v) j- Z# k Deliver program overview to potential clients, as well as other interested parties.
% i) q1 ^8 }# J& N- W- C. p Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.

 Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.  c, q" e$ S3 E1 ~0 |3 ?
 Cooperatively with the client, develop an individualized service plan./ S1 e7 c! C8 V+ f" X" l6 i

 Interact with participants on a continuous basis so that the Service Plan progress can be monitored throughout the program and into the follow up period

! h6 `. Q  L2 j( O$ V( w" y Ensure that participants have access to the required supports to successfully complete their Service Plan
+ K" B$ R# R1 B& ~$ G# G Assist clients in maintaining a job or in identifying barriers/issues that keep clients from obtaining/maintaining employment& o( \/ V0 {' Q$ w8 A1 O
 Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada
0 Z5 D0 s3 G8 w+ l; D Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants
2 e+ l& F9 I. Y9 e; n# H  n Complete participant reviews with the participants
+ k- D# @2 V# }7 J% ?; T Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion
