 Provide information regarding job search strategies and labour market information.

 Encourage independence and self determination in newcomers
3 j) s; \) Q# p9 J0 | Work with newcomers in assessing their needs and a needs-based settlement plan.
% K4 T1 h9 n. W% Q( {$ } Liaise effectively with a range of service providers, both voluntary and statutory, in order to ensure services are available to newcomers.3 l4 j7 R! F4 u  I
 Accompany newcomers to other agencies and to act as advocate as necessary.

Assessment Officer

 Deliver program overview to potential clients, as well as other interested parties.
( r3 c/ X, F# n Screen and assess clients’ skills and abilities through a workability assessment.; X7 h3 E4 q& t0 M$ [' N
 Determination of which stream of services most appropriate for the client.0 V; c% L/ g$ W7 h: G
 Provide referral information on other services that may be more suitable for the client.7 m2 v- e, h9 p+ f/ w
 Cooperatively with the client, develop an individualized service plan.

 Ensure that participants have access to the required supports to successfully complete their Service Plan

 Assist clients with obtaining required documentation for working in their profession in Canada0 ^# L2 t: H( _. c! y
 Develop and maintain knowledge of current programs and services available for participants& ~* f; J. H3 z  x% w0 u
 Complete participant reviews with the participants+ |- n3 w' t6 l; V: G4 }% a" O
 Complete 90 and 180 day follow up with client after training completion
! @! ~1 E3 A. C* h* w( O5 u& Q Perform other duties as assigned by manager/coordinator
