Purpose of Position
5 I3 W: V3 S! _! f7 l1 nThe Human Resources Advisor is a generalist position, responsible for providing a range of support and expertise, enabling management to deliver best practices and human resource solutions which support the business operations of the PCN.

Key Responsibilities
! f# y5 d# }, O1 FThe key responsibilities of this role is to review and ensure effectiveness of day-to-day human resources functions, includes, but are not limited, to:
8 P/ p ~+ `+ U1. Recruitment, Selection and Orientation
; k) U b/ n4 l/ d9 {# G9 ]• Provide guidance and support for recruitment, sourcing, job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and selection practices, as well as job offers2 P$ J* s8 r' t; \& s
• Develop, administer and evaluate applicant tests
" A8 c7 L2 I- y2 z T; x# h• Ensure job descriptions are kept current
, H6 v7 X4 r# k/ y• Manage the new employee orientation and orientation programs: @+ _% E" Z7 I7 @
• Support the administration of probation evaluations for all employees' |/ z7 J8 M6 u. g

• Provide recommendations for policies and procedures; when identified as a priority and delegated by the General Manager, develop the necessary documentation and seek approval3 M! }( k8 E# z* I& N4 v; a
 Manage all policies and procedures to ensure consistency, references are correct and there is no duplication or contradictions; p) q" q! g, w5 \0 n
• Advise all employees, especially Team Leads and Managers, on interpretation and administration of policies, procedures, programs and legislative compliance/ k$ Z; ], E8 M' N1 ]' w2 m

3. Performance Management Support+ S8 C( }* ?5 a9 F5 p: T; X) b; B
• Monitor attendance/absenteeism and assist with the administration of performance management program
, @- Z: v. Y; \- y$ c• Support Team Leads and Managers in the administration of discipline and employee coaching
5 u6 d) K8 }1 b* _4 n• Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations): G0 ~) V6 ~0 A6 [! Z. O
• Conduct exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations+ L9 g1 f9 l9 y( ~
• Member of, and responsible for, the Rewards and Recognition Committee5 L0 o1 `( D9 ~& e3 R- |( b. B

• Maintain accurate records and compile statistical reports relating to personnel data – e.g. hires, absenteeism rates, performance appraisals

• Provide input and support to the management team on employee relations issues

• Administer and record employee rewards, recognition and incentive programs

7. Payroll and Benefits
% `; Y* ^* J$ T) P) W0 ?• Oversee payroll administration and maintain relationship with payroll provider
2 Z* X+ l" L# P$ H! l/ n• Administer and educate employees of benefits and maintain a sustainable relationship with insurance providers
% ]* F5 n5 A+ y! u• Manage claims for short-term and long-term disability, and ensure effective return-to-work programs

# B) B2 a! v+ O5 }6 SQualifications & Expertise
- T/ Y! M' v9 e# G9 D1 A R! Q Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR generalist (series of progressive specialist roles will also be considered)
# O* ^# u* L8 m' b Minimum 2-year diploma, preferably in human resources or business administration specializing in HR, or related area of study (equivalencies will be considered)- ]! c- p8 E! O3 T7 C1 o1 z) m8 E
 A CHRP designation is an asset
7 k/ D8 X6 X/ n4 I& K" U Experience in the health care industry is an asset
( |+ f: m' u9 s2 a( A# h1 S9 F1 p Experience managing change is preferred
3 H" o; e% z# Z. |$ M, G' h. Y& U Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook w# O; t u- S$ V" u2 c
