Purpose of Position
, \+ `! @2 Q: N. ~6 M, F0 [ D JThe Human Resources Advisor is a generalist position, responsible for providing a range of support and expertise, enabling management to deliver best practices and human resource solutions which support the business operations of the PCN.

The key responsibilities of this role is to review and ensure effectiveness of day-to-day human resources functions, includes, but are not limited, to:3 a! `" X5 P3 E* N, v+ ^7 A
1. Recruitment, Selection and Orientation% R& d, M; _9 U9 i4 ~7 r
• Provide guidance and support for recruitment, sourcing, job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and selection practices, as well as job offers2 P% B- }, Z8 l# H; M
• Develop, administer and evaluate applicant tests
v2 C0 y9 m" Q( A1 o# E• Ensure job descriptions are kept current
2 _! A6 l1 p" [1 z• Manage the new employee orientation and orientation programs

2. Policy and Procedure$ z G; r$ Q6 \" r5 x' J1 b3 M
• Provide recommendations for policies and procedures; when identified as a priority and delegated by the General Manager, develop the necessary documentation and seek approval
/ w; ~# v- c* D$ Q9 Z3 y Manage all policies and procedures to ensure consistency, references are correct and there is no duplication or contradictions
! J" b) a0 V0 m* s: `$ g, M! {• Advise all employees, especially Team Leads and Managers, on interpretation and administration of policies, procedures, programs and legislative compliance4 o' w5 }' {, R" T

3. Performance Management Support
+ N6 E8 _; n/ U8 g• Monitor attendance/absenteeism and assist with the administration of performance management program
# }' N* v' m0 q1 c! O8 ^" l• Support Team Leads and Managers in the administration of discipline and employee coaching
# k; T# o# s# S4 h8 A! \• Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations): q, m g4 O7 o# {5 g8 U* m
• Conduct exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations. p( f$ `5 |7 I+ }- K6 G
• Member of, and responsible for, the Rewards and Recognition Committee

• Maintain accurate records and compile statistical reports relating to personnel data – e.g. hires, absenteeism rates, performance appraisals" k: V2 S: a4 w( o3 l
• Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices

5. Management Support and Planning

6. Job Evaluation, Compensation and Classification

• Manage salary structure and job evaluation system, from time to time, as required

7. Payroll and Benefits
" M! N& c/ @$ H1 y0 J( h$ i ?• Oversee payroll administration and maintain relationship with payroll provider0 s' l# p! Y" A( c
• Administer and educate employees of benefits and maintain a sustainable relationship with insurance providers$ @2 J2 ?( e) q# J" @8 w
• Manage claims for short-term and long-term disability, and ensure effective return-to-work programs0 ]0 |% x3 H3 C# r# m. Q

Qualifications & Expertise
- {( \# U- R# I! P7 f Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR generalist (series of progressive specialist roles will also be considered)
M: T! Y+ U3 r9 B8 | Minimum 2-year diploma, preferably in human resources or business administration specializing in HR, or related area of study (equivalencies will be considered)
# z' ]1 ~8 X# c7 z! _ A CHRP designation is an asset
+ ~* _9 J# g+ N [2 t Experience in the health care industry is an asset7 C! L- K! p4 _' f. z
 Experience managing change is preferred2 q, T8 p: o7 |7 e" L% [
 Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Hours of Work & (if any) Special Considerations
