Job Description
- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
9 G; P+ `$ {8 _, j$ p, y- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
-  develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
- provide support to ISP staff
- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
8 S! x( @# t2 u& Q- J/ t4 B1 x6 L- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
0 h7 u* H, I, \& N+ w/ D- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
) V' q3 U3 y5 `) s* P* C, I- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned

) E" F, c: P1 `, b) sQualifications
- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
2 [: F8 t% {, Z& Q2 I- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
* q. k! e/ P, X. k' p/ f' z; B- l- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
- good interpersonal and people skills
' Z- _# \- m! p0 z7 n3 r* f7 b% t- good organizational and coordination skills
8 Q" b% {7 e% d2 O% c1 H- valid driver’s license

- must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

Salary
- $12/hr for 17.5hours/week, April 18 to March 31, 2007
