In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.

SEDI is staffed to: $ Q$ V7 @$ ?) d8 X4 x5 p* | c
• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
4 \8 ^' v, e$ S3 n$ {/ J& a• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners 4 i' x% @% _0 Y% E, t
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation # [6 B7 H0 \ n+ n3 C( P
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs % M* l& ?7 K1 e5 ~
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits

• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada

• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada 7 L. x$ u- d3 ^: z
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) % W. G1 t5 ~, I8 \9 j! K/ h; w) u
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
* V: I3 a1 H# M1 z' z• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities 6 |! f! p' w' C0 V* x- Z& z! ?
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team $ u& w6 G- c% j
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

1 u1 x" v% @ n; D9 ?- \• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies * ]$ F/ ^7 v# ^0 |
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners . I8 k Q. }9 y5 V' t9 \
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting 8 L/ ^2 _. i2 u( P9 `
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports # G6 [$ m$ h# {
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

• Demonstrated group facilitation experience " K) k2 {6 t8 }/ L! \" x# o
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
' _& T& d8 y4 c! q0 j, z• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
( D( y% H, f( X _( a• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities * ~& u c7 G; A! `; a) a. R
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams " _: N9 D' e! `# N9 q d2 d. S

• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts ' N$ C" ^) @! W$ G: U
• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them ; G5 z5 y9 l( H! q- F/ w7 y
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc & X& a7 [" g# `) @0 P5 g
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education
& `; f0 ? M: H4 t• Content / curriculum development experience
7 G5 J5 Q8 p- T% ^• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners
/ t/ I; g+ Y5 E9 L* _• Excellent organizational skills

• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset 6 F/ o4 Z" {, K* k
• Policy research skill set is an asset 9 g* m1 A8 v4 f
• Marketing and communication experience an asset
