SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. * p# |; p+ |" p4 S7 A+ }
SEDI is staffed to:
m: |8 y; w+ T; s% ^• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
% O* Z1 ~/ \9 `- Q/ c• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners + ^2 j& i3 E8 ~2 K
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
, X0 ~7 T* q5 J: w- T P5 y4 R• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
$ l2 b1 O4 G3 h# k A3 m• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits T+ I, E Y% k) ~( Y+ h$ C7 V
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses
% q; t# H; a6 p8 j, n- T! k• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada
5 @( J8 v; _, V+ }- |" \2 _Primary Responsibilities and Activities: 5 A7 F0 B1 Q" ` `
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
7 A, Q Z, K) a7 O) l5 |7 { l• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
, R& q+ y$ U# {; B2 S• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required - h1 q1 \9 v* U/ ~- n
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
: a, V# V2 L- J& {" \• Working with evaluation and management information systems team : m* ?% R% L' g$ a2 Z
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies 1 {( X m/ w: W1 F+ G2 ?4 s
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
! l2 E5 b" k4 x5 ?• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting . r* O/ }' O6 p
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports ( `9 ~& n" X! I
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

• Demonstrated group facilitation experience 1 B* H/ Y0 v6 K' W1 ~2 Y) C4 s/ v7 D
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media ( I' _# u( ]5 \9 M. L3 T
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
0 b1 g2 L% k& V0 S• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities ( B/ C3 ~; k7 L! E3 K
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams 2 }/ a' L2 B& r7 z j% \8 P
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals

• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
- o g( y' f4 y& v% M- F• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc ; P0 g8 K7 `7 ^( m: g( b1 _
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education
0 R, V R) _% @4 m) \: [• Content / curriculum development experience

• Excellent organizational skills : `* n$ Z- O n$ e0 e
• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. 8 D: `& ^# f" t' e8 ~1 e
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset
( v6 t, h6 D. B• Policy research skill set is an asset
