SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada. ! v$ G. N4 c5 B" _! ^' t' B5 L
SEDI is staffed to:
8 f3 V; h) |, ?! Z, g• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
3 R# f9 h9 D: L, s. F" R, H0 ^• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
$ j1 \5 O h% e8 d8 b" M5 Z• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation ; P- u1 j: G/ Q; Y
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs 0 m! p/ z; S$ Y; v2 k( y
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits 2 Z: s: z% Z3 [: I2 g) j+ n
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses 7 @% v( \2 K5 N+ g) i& P
• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada
* x; o! o. s5 n( xPrimary Responsibilities and Activities:
0 R6 w2 C5 s6 s- i• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
" b# I5 [/ Q; a/ b& V. j• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
! e3 G- m' ]8 N) N! l• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required 9 }) x& p. U, a0 w
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities
( M/ y; N" Y% A8 x0 \• Working with evaluation and management information systems team ! [$ Q/ l7 x V0 v% a* } v# p! R
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required # {( j1 \, Y/ a% u. g6 m
Other Activities:
; N. m3 ] I1 r8 I# N. [1 m8 N• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
" W( h/ o5 o7 M* p9 `% p6 X- b• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
5 @ \) V* N3 z) W4 t W• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting - e# }6 y3 p0 c, x/ d% G
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports 8 x* A, g+ v7 t2 \% p( j
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
4 e1 n- N5 W" l. D n G• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media ' @7 I5 y: ?- ~! k3 @
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training h! F- c Q0 G$ A3 u! ]" l( V
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities & [7 d$ x v- u
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams
) W9 x- _7 p9 s q& ]• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals
* I& Q1 \0 z3 E7 e• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
# T9 G. g; z1 C% D• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
2 D5 y! f$ x9 V+ x• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc
3 F0 y! B9 V6 {+ `2 G• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education
5 l$ W" c. Q, r1 f5 } m- i9 j5 T• Content / curriculum development experience N# X" J/ u1 K( c2 ~
• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners
- R1 l9 Z8 F! @. F! R+ i0 f8 z• Excellent organizational skills
$ y6 \# j7 y# W" C0 l" G R# q• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.

• Policy research skill set is an asset
