In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.: z$ P9 O! \1 S) I1 y

SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
3 f- P9 K& z9 D7 WSEDI is staffed to: ; J' Z7 f5 N0 \
• conduct socio-economic market and policy research : z3 ~9 N, R" a" H) M
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners 0 f5 y7 A. Z# [. o, g
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation * K* w0 ?4 F( p9 p) o
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs ]4 z' h$ L+ X c, _ W
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
3 d9 T8 e$ A, y8 ~# D1 V• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses , J& G/ O% a! M8 {; S: _4 p
• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada ! y$ k6 p1 f0 Z
Primary Responsibilities and Activities:
% ?) ] Q4 o& t3 e$ c6 j1 L+ x) r• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
" M& @6 w9 R E3 ^, e z• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) 6 B6 v5 ]4 Z, o% f/ y2 N
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
- B& {" ]& o" L) L. W• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities 0 t$ E0 m* M( q) ^" N
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team * v& t7 B$ R# L, y: ?, T- b2 e
• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
K6 x; U. P0 g0 P• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
% R% d) V7 {- b! h$ H- \6 K5 T• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
# N: M7 K* h- ]" y1 ?+ B' B, D2 Z/ L• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
* i; `# l$ K v• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning $ D% n2 C8 V8 ^. T) \3 @
Primary Qualifications: ( _0 b% a: r/ T% J; C, U& [- `, R
• Demonstrated group facilitation experience 4 Z' F; ]: ?0 z! V
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
. b! W% o7 z' v/ m6 k• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
( P& h' Z( S: f! ?3 \• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
_/ g2 Y- \9 n/ B• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams $ D: o3 w1 _; Q) O ]; l' Y& k. f
• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals
( j: r6 N' Z3 q4 r$ S9 Z• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
& n2 C0 j+ M F+ O) S; O9 b" P- d1 X9 J• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them 1 a6 `$ d8 A- A3 U! w
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc
5 m( i$ [" a& s: K; P1 t• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education
8 b* t8 s6 ~3 R A• Content / curriculum development experience
$ U; Q, {+ \( W$ i2 d• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners

2 m. q$ @# A/ q) N& L2 v• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.
. v0 Z: U' [! B: A• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset

• Marketing and communication experience an asset
