Volunteer Job Description

Position:        Youth Leader
) T+ p9 N8 Q6 H1 EDuration of Commitment:Summer T.A.N.G. Youth Program
Camp 1 – July 04 – July 14
Camp 2 – July 31 – August 11 (must attend an overnight camp on August 10 to 11)
7 w  J" z1 K9 m# a/ C' ]# P- pTime:0915 to 1600(Regular Program Time)
*might work in other time in some specific days
8 C3 S2 a$ M3 O) H' R  lPlace: ASSIST Community Services Centre

4 _# f& R9 S$ WDuties:
: g$ l8 Y4 o9 d# Z/ UTo assist the T.A.N.G. Youth Program Coordinator by providing clerical and/or activities support in the followings:

5 m( U# F, O$ A7 w& u' W. Y Distribution of promotion flyers to schools, churches, communities and relevant social agencies and professionals
 Take attendance if available
8 Z2 k& }. P. f0 p. D- G Provide positive modelling to youth
 Facilitate or assist in ice-breaking games and/or other activities
 Facilitate or assist in small group discussions
' r8 p" I) o# H! j3 h6 K; z4 ~; Q Research activities related to the session’s topic upon advice of the Program Coordinator
 Watch out on the safety of youth either in centre or fieldtrips
1 y+ N1 s; n6 N! A7 f- b% u Report to the Program Coordinator for any doubts or concerns and/or any troubleshoot behaviour
* q  Y4 F9 K. w7 q! i; r Act according to the guidance or direction of the Program Coordinator
 Must follow guidelines or procedures stipulated in the manual/training
 Attend debriefing sessions/ongoing training
0 b; F; R* G# _/ K+ @ Assist in program planning/design
 Any other program related tasks as assigned by the Program Coordinator

. Z& ]1 V' c* t7 p Mature, sensible, patient, organized, willing to take and follow instruction
6 p4 I" |" c5 X/ c7 g- P7 F1 A Be open and willing to initiate and maintain a positive relationship with youths in the program, or youth who is matched on an one-on-one basis
 A team player, can get along well with other staff & volunteers
. ]- f, R9 q" S+ ^2 R Concentrate efforts in the group session or activities over other distractions
 Able to work independently with minimum supervision
7 t' j! M) O/ ?! g; ]/ U1 {' g8 A9 T Value building on strengths in children, youth and families
6 `9 F' K) U) c! K Able to get along with youth and/or youth who might at risk
 Certain proficiency in English and Chinese
