) t' {2 i/ r  ]1 z( QYOUCAN is an acronym that stands for Youth Organizing to Understand Conflict and
5 w4 v6 o, q, W( l) x/ w4 U$ kAdvocate Non-Violence. YOUCAN has served youth in the Edmonton area for the past
% o' E& D9 B: L" a5 r$ T. O3 mnine years and our mission is to equip youth to engage and inspire others to
peacefully resolve conflicts and develop healthy relationships in their communities.
; t" o, C1 M% q, |The YOUCAN VERTO Project is a Government of Canada and Government of Albertafunded
; G3 }: f; R' j( S- U' i
project that will bring at-risk youth together into a unique 15 -week groupbased
0 f' A# D# c! l" k: R7 Qemployability skills program entitled “The VERTO Project”.
& O# N$ R! o9 S$ @The goal of the VERTO Program is to assist participants in obtaining and maintaining
the skills necessary to bring success into their lives. Verto program will expose
participants to a wide range of components focusing on: employment development,
, Y9 n* S/ U! n% c7 r- ipersonal wellness, technology learning, conflict resolution, and exposure courses.
) A; g/ g* P8 H1 L3 \Additionally, we will incorporate topics around health and wellness, volunteerism,
and leadership courses. Verto youth will be provided with a six-month employment
% A9 C1 ]. c4 z8 g& V3 u! |follow-up once the program is completed.

Verto project will run from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at the
