Job Responsibilities:" O) q, U4 M! W# n. P8 g

Payroll:" Y6 t7 B! C2 S6 W- v
• Verify and process required documents when a new employee is hired1 Z7 N8 _$ h) b
• Prepare and complete the twice monthly organization’s payroll
2 f# I4 Y. ^* W! O• Ensure the maintenance of confidential up-to-date personnel records - m8 q' ]4 B) T5 ` x3 _* W
• Input benefit deductions into payroll
) _+ [, r9 E( f6 R2 l' J% x( z7 |0 w* B0 @( h& H! O& ]! u
Reporting duties:3 q/ o! [, p9 ~+ k" r
• Prepare RSP contribution file and send to RSP provider3 z' n5 W! q g; J% H
• Prepare New Hires report for Statistics Canada and upload it onto the Statistics Canada website' c9 T9 ]6 d* b0 c% W" \2 f
• Reconcile payroll to T-4’s and T-4A’s and prepare and send T-4’s and T-4A’s
/ x# @6 \" @$ l2 P8 a0 A• Reconcile Worker’s Compensation Board expense to payroll, and submit Worker’s Compensation Report to WCB authority

6 e, u$ ~$ `/ S u4 R# g) ]7 l0 L• Ensure compliance with Canada Revenue Agency’s regulations regarding payroll
5 D. ~# Q+ T" L4 Z T) z# N# z• Ensure compliance with Alberta Labour Standards and other provincial regulations regarding payroll.
* B& Y4 ?* C- r) z) B* |• Ensure procedures for safeguarding and releasing personal information comply with Freedom of Information and Privacy regulations, provincial privacy legislation and YWCA Edmonton Human Resources Policies' K" d. I, B- W8 S7 H
• Act as information liaison between Worker’s Compensation Board and managers, and ensure compliance with Worker’s Compensation Board reporting/ u% H0 u. r8 k

Accounts Receivable:! B. e* d6 `/ @" c: J& N
• Complete data entry of all receipts, cash and direct deposit3 n0 Q. L$ a& d/ c" B7 M8 y
• Note discrepancies between receipts and invoicing, and communicate discrepancies to appropriate department
9 _9 }2 }$ @* T, M% q• Conduct debit and credit adjustments up to a limit of $10.00 and ensure manager’s approval is required for adjustments
+ [* s" l2 N& S. E' [$ }6 q n• Prepare and complete miscellaneous third party billing8 R, B) ~7 G1 `, T: Y! u
. q L$ o6 O7 F$ n; y* }/ mQualifications:& j4 m- W$ s& n" F6 X* I
+ }: @7 O9 z: G& |2 ~• Post secondary education in computerized Accounting and Payroll Programs including working knowledge of Accpac ERP
5 s+ H+ c- s, \2 F8 f5 F4 b• Completion or in process of completion for certification by the Canadian Payroll Association
& H& B* @ e. g1 E y' {• Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll related position. N& C% Y* @# q$ l& ]
• Proven experience with word processing, databases, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office% T" c# c4 {9 s& X
• Detail oriented and demonstrated accuracy in work
% W/ s) d) t% H: D: Y/ K• Establishes priorities, meets deadlines, and works well under pressure
