Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person; }/ {$ n' h$ O0 P7 X6 s6 u3 b
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
% W! m/ o' l0 Z+ z4 H• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
% I# I- v) A0 L• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
# h$ k/ B3 M0 y& D. e• Oversee the front counter when other front counter staff are on holiday or in trainings# U+ b2 M# P# H* F
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents i$ o/ o: c1 ] w: c) g
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker) m8 u+ {& F* Z+ {1 j$ s" P8 U
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
, Y! g! {4 H ~1 e• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events% M) J& `9 ~4 e; a& v- G+ ^% ^
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
! _5 ^+ Z. h& y# P! ~& W; I2 {; B• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- n% v4 j# V8 {' l# B• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person% |) {" E% r4 U! x
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset+ j2 y& W% t3 A' B" |
• Good English writing and oral communication skills
9 ^ \( e- G* m• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients1 a2 W! p* K- f. [
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook
% G5 K) Y2 S/ d5 V# `• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
! x0 Z7 B2 g+ D$ J0 p• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds( w, X0 J4 @5 e6 H1 f, w
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment

8 z5 F" O& q3 X5 S9 q/ m• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
# D, x9 d$ p3 `5 ^! N* S; S7 W' F• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment3 M- B" g6 |! q5 y
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism% v7 d7 \( [, \; q @" S
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
