Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker4 t) W' {: ]. i4 b' v5 S! ]: z; L
Hours of Work: Part-time (10 hours per week)

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. : K( t/ [+ A8 x& H( P
; A- o; P2 p' t/ Z+ jKey Responsibilities:3 W" q( b( c% P
• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
+ U% y1 P* l' s- [• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
4 K! p" ?+ M# L! L• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately3 g# {8 N) D* G% G5 n
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
# k6 B7 R# r* E( w# v- h) ~6 R• Oversee the front counter when other front counter staff are on holiday or in trainings
2 s3 B; e% D1 Y+ ]% R• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
9 E- x* ?2 s# p3 c9 \1 F: {• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker: g9 W O& T9 w; Y. Z. L7 U
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
8 f# z5 a3 ]4 w U6 Y7 W) |• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events4 e% _- ]) @6 O( \5 d3 v7 k0 Z
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
9 n& |/ e( J8 P, H0 [• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

• Perform general office duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:5 _: A7 U" M/ @" v/ I
• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
# n- l( B2 S- h$ `/ I2 P• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
" Z3 t* y6 e4 h/ W• Good English writing and oral communication skills
6 R* |: I) m( o5 R% s• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
0 B- R, q6 X7 W/ y) z% w- x; J• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook

• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds

• Knowledge of immigrant services

) i8 n% j( n q8 V1 L( C• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience 5 C2 v1 ^/ r1 v a5 P- ~% d2 o
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment' V5 p, }' M+ l$ [" q
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism0 y* ^7 k) z% H1 |# U# [
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision( V: u3 z# d. R, w
