Identify and evaluate strategic technologies that are beneficial in enhancing storage and backup infrastructure services

0 J3 [2 M2 f  a' R* b5 H+ j% @Provide secondary triage of client issues and problems that have been escalated from the Service Desk
, _2 h9 Q# ?! o$ O( Z* N& i
' ]# x7 V' m3 U' D6 LInstall and configure NetApp  Data OnTap, HP EVA Storage Array hardware, HP Tape Backup products, CommVault Backup software, Legato NetWorker Backup software (Legacy) and various other appliances

. c/ M: Z0 f% @9 ~3 dWorking with other OSS team members to identify, plan, and configure Solaris, HPUX, Linux and Windows servers for integration into the Storage and Backup environment
; e# K9 G$ l$ W6 B8 H# y
3 p+ Z* Z/ N/ TManage applications that support the Storage and Backup infrastructure, including  CommVault, Legato NetWorker, DPM, Quest, and other custom applications

" ~% ?/ p# d/ y) m/ [3 r# S+ \Implement and support vendor and industry best practices and procedures for the storage and backup environments
& p, L: {  D( p5 D
7 ]# S! ?9 ^9 w- U, MProvide recommendations and design strategies to improve the operation of the environment based on analysis, trending and forecasting

Design and implement processes and procedures to improve the operation of the environment.

Write and maintain Perl / shell scripts for day to day administration and automation

Liaising with IT customers to determine their requirements and ensure that business needs are effectively translated into solutions

Provide after hours support for  business critical systems  
+ z' M0 T7 P  g! O Qualifications  
, A- p! p: ]% W' y( ^" g. x/ M" _: T) r' d A degree or diploma in Computing Science or Computer Engineering or a related Information Technology discipline

. H6 D/ m8 f5 B% R8 q- OExcellent working knowledge of SAN topologies and technologies with a primary emphasis on NetApp data OnTap, HP EVA storage arrays and Brocade switches.Previous experience managing a SAN with the above technologies is mandatory

$ C, K2 n4 R$ r! BExcellent working knowledge of CommVault Simpana 8 or higher,  Legato NetWorker backup software

Excellent working knowledge of storage virtualization technologies and concepts

; {6 h- i( B) i' U1 P6 @  jPrevious experience with administration of Solaris, HPUX, Linux, and/or Windows would be an asset

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience communicating effectively with various levels of management

A high level understanding of IT technical infrastructure requirements for large enterprise deployments

/ H! n; \* @8 s9 pAbility to interpret business drivers and translate into technical solutions
" ~0 g: ]4 O% p; s, k7 L
1 G# C* A1 `0 J$ q# dThorough understanding of Information Technology business practices and processes, including ITIL
" i& z* h& y8 g# f2 }3 P- S3 X
Ability to excel in a self-directed environment

Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Visio, is an asset

2 i9 y6 r  X' O* }2 U1 eValid driver's license with a clean drivers abstract

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience
