Scope and Purpose of Job

T; XEmployee would be responsible for handling all technical support for Lab Equipment systems (both hardware & software), to include lab testing & dyeing, dispensing, sample conditioning, and lighting cabinets. Work as the technical liaison with 3rd party suppliers.  Work very closely with Product Manager on new product development for all laboratory equipment.3 c# z& k5 m6 @9 n  I) d
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities
7 Y$ S6 F2 z9 q! }•        Be the global primary contact for support for Lab Equipment Systems and liaise with 3rd party supplier on any issues.
* C$ c: B2 i3 A0 b& e. d•        Answering all technical questions concerning mechanical functions and software operations.
, N4 S$ B/ |8 Z, G! J0 V+ b9 ^; F•        Assist with troubleshooting ideas on technical and software problems
- n4 ~5 |2 ?% K/ |  Eo        Test all new patch versions of software prior to release
/ r  V% H& h$ g7 v•        Assist where needed in application questions.; E# |+ a# Y; M$ }; ?1 h$ d) p: E
•        Check all technical documentation for correctness prior to field distribution.  v9 W; B8 \* |% {
o        New parts and replacement parts and installation procedures6 |5 }/ ^2 J! h, j/ ?; U( \+ Z6 G( i
o        Translation to Chinese and other languages if needed; j- o( J# ^' {8 a3 q
•        Track and report all warranty failures
/ b# a! j7 [, _, Ho        Make monthly report to Product Manager and 3rd party supplier.  V& i% _$ ^5 U
o        Recommend remedy to improve product quality and design.
0 [6 I. g( J  }" `+ a" Z* t  O7 d•        Assist Product Manager in all new product development plans for all Lab Equipment products.  In some cases act as the Project Manager for new product development.
/ O6 X. Q) B7 t& Po        Run field Beta test sites and any new idea testing and make reports
) v! H  d# K( P$ Io        Assist in information gather for any new product idea.+ M0 Z4 w3 p7 l$ [
o        Assist in writing and new product specification
. Z5 I, E5 I- Qo        Point of expert contact for implementation of features/functions.
8 t' @+ B1 Q5 P5 so        Act as technical applications expert on development team.
2 l: I% h' {! f•        Assist in Sales support & training.9 ]2 K4 B8 l9 e$ Q3 S3 o
•        Responsible for any technical training needed for products, either given by the supplier or actually give the training in person.  To use both Web-based and on-site training tools.( H1 N, e% D$ {! [9 h
o        In rare cases where no other solution exist to travel to customer site to solve technical issues.# I% I1 k: D6 ]# Q7 t! x( p8 I

Professional Experience (Years and Field of Activity)       
/ e: I  }6 z: K  K% z% l: u( M5+ years working as technical specialist for textile laboratory equipment. Expereince with textile laboratory dispensers
. N" t6 G" \6 O7 {List of Skills/Qualifications        / x) g7 O( h7 g5 Z" l" Q' K( B, E/ ?' w
•        Must have an extensive background in textile laboratory equipment uses and workflow process.  Understanding of textile dyeing processes.
9 P  k6 s3 Q* G$ b# O- A•        Background knowledge of dispensers and software " w1 l+ L) s3 a# N) f
•        Proficient in software use and writing.
  i& F6 o* g3 ?% a1 P6 ]3 u* v2 M•        Excellent communicator both verbally and in written reports.+ o& e5 |, J  F0 J
•        Ability to travel worldwide.
