8 @# L3 V* k; `; r. V: ^• Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
) k! S; E/ ~1 n+ i• Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
& V, G) ]& h- O1 h5 \) r• Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers9 G- F1 N2 D& i/ A8 g1 w
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams, y ]: G5 g/ @5 o3 |
• Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
8 N/ Z9 l- i! _0 }& A/ I• Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment3 x* Q4 _$ f6 _
• File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
* t& S% G w2 ~! ?9 H2 b• Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting6 L! {( C' }4 o; K/ d
• Mix paint, blend and match colors
3 ~: P1 ^- L5 {• Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
$ ?7 N0 g# E% }/ g- p• Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs

• Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling9 u) P5 q/ N" O7 Z [
Education and Experience Requirements:
2 s! S! c' R, Q0 i; R- L1 E• Completion of secondary school is required
/ f8 U$ D7 D$ O8 U" ~• Completion of a three- to four-year motor vehicle body repair apprenticeship program
6 N* ^% r, k4 T7 xor5 G, h- S% b& o# Y* z' e! F, V
A combination of over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade m7 j' s; Z9 k$ t0 {" M
• Alberta Trade certification for motor vehicle body repair (metal and paint) is compulsory 3 C4 T) D, k; r8 N- I4 Q5 Q
