Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. 5 m/ n3 b& E9 e# |% B- j

• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
G; A1 A6 S1 ~• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST. |# Q! m. o6 ?/ ^
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
3 }! C- j1 O# P4 @# K' [$ J• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter8 X4 { a' S; ?# L
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents. e* T9 [' `3 ]4 l2 m8 {9 x% V
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
9 {; r3 H+ g B( [$ m9 x• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
9 P2 Q( U$ m" o/ f3 U. N, H9 D9 p w• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events# `% r" y& r: H' d. @, [, D5 r( @; _. x
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean

• Maintain front counter service files* s9 p' S3 q! V8 Q( O
• Perform general office duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
+ X! X5 [ i' A! E+ q0 c7 v, w• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person" k8 P/ p; U5 D
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
( C/ f( y6 c1 Z) L7 i/ T• Good English writing and oral communication skills, S6 L4 M; c4 ?( [& D
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients# J4 {2 q7 }, l' @9 |4 _
• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook
7 X! R, J7 N# Y• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
3 n- [/ w n \( e$ ]6 y• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds
4 I$ D' Q/ T' q' c! ^• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment

Qualifications:) G2 @2 x$ l5 s* [) m8 h9 j, X
• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience
7 B% o* X) f3 K( `9 y6 K; C• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
0 J( x0 D0 e4 F3 ^• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism, f8 Q7 A' O" r8 x9 U& \
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
