Hours of Work: Part-time (21 hours per week)

Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker.

Key Responsibilities:# V5 d. N1 d; b' `. {5 C
• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person9 K- _# X% \; U, L
• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST
6 ]7 H1 q2 X! k3 `• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately. c0 v S8 D$ p1 A
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter
2 H4 Q8 [$ ?& y3 P U* J• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents( d% }' G/ S4 {. B
• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker0 u% \- T, m" n9 i/ k
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
5 l! P) ^* Q6 x0 n+ F% p& B+ G• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events9 l0 x4 V; m) ]! n& P
• Keep the reception area tidy and clean
9 x: C8 k# f# s• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters
; U" _* S9 F S• Maintain front counter service files. x9 {7 ^0 b# Q
• Perform general office duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
9 j- J0 a, Y% I• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person% q: g$ K+ y! p, \
• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
3 {/ z! d5 `: C: k/ ~/ C• Good English writing and oral communication skills- v# h: s0 H7 Y
• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
& ]/ C0 P" X% |7 W• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook
% {# H) W% t& e% w• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately
. k! o* C/ \/ }$ f" u& `$ A• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds* a( x3 H6 m, @* D
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment

Qualifications:0 C( @5 Y& E5 H, ~" D
• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience + l! ?' K4 B7 u$ R$ Q
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
# T! I2 e/ ^" M4 A( W9 [/ j• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism
( X [1 s$ }6 _( a7 I6 _• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
