Position Title:  Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and Alberta Human Services, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. 0 S6 N( x6 q+ O. W6 y. L) O

•        Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
# G% s1 M) ?+ S0 a7 ^: Q•        Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST7 D2 [- t: Q/ X7 S- Z: a6 E) P
•        Welcome clients and direct them appropriately
1 a7 h  R5 P& r: [•        Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter) {* _( A. C. R& {% _. y8 i& ^2 e
•        Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
# ^6 F; g5 `, s* A0 |•        Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker
7 B7 L; X/ k; w, H, G6 w•        Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events
1 }' Y* |% l' N•        Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events
* A6 t6 I! k$ u; w! o" M3 S; W•        Keep the reception area tidy and clean( B5 {( M9 P& p) q/ f! u' v: Q" F
•        Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters
  s3 w# C7 k' t# n•        Maintain front counter service files
9 S) ^1 m; U4 N! w•        Perform general office duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
) p$ Q+ u2 R1 |1 C•        Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
/ T7 s: w; q, ]% U$ ~# f' h•        Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
* i3 ]: G  ?  B5 z, x7 O8 l# \•        Good English writing and oral communication skills% [& v! `& q+ Q: w( p) @2 i
•        Ability to work with newcomers and general clients- B. i6 k& ^+ t
•        Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook( i9 L& A8 M5 J$ S
•        Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately $ |1 v# F8 `( z, E
•        Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds
5 D8 q$ J: Q8 X+ f/ i/ Z•        Ability to work effectively in a fast paced office environment
7 O5 L, L1 _2 v3 f+ P0 R9 q4 I•        Knowledge of immigrant services

* Q9 h* p0 e/ r' C: y( vQualifications:
7 ~# A4 i( C' M: t# H* {) Z•        2-4 years of office and clerical experience
% h  U  n3 m6 @+ K•        Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment
+ \/ q7 p: B) v5 f4 Z•        Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism, T& U3 E  l& }
•        Ability to work well under minimal supervision1 C( d) m7 _: z# _! M
