What is the criteria for reporting a traffic accident? Can I phone it in?
# e, _% @# C) K# j6 S" D) ?( TEffective August 1, 2002, Saskatchewan motorists will only have to report motor vehicle collisions to police if the collision involves:% }6 d1 j# X7 E2 R) ?+ j$ a8 M" L F* Y
1) Any bodily injury or death;
, U+ C j: G5 {. {( u; B* c2) A Hit-and-Run;
' R/ q$ f& R+ j. J2 `3) A driver impaired by alcohol or drugs; {$ _ X5 }" n% S
4) A motor vehicle towed from the scene;
" T8 H8 a; y a% L% g, D l5) An out-of-province vehicle.$ K$ Q+ I, o* }0 Z* r2 J
5 t4 H! }% L5 @Normally, police would be dispatched to the collisions described above. One exception may be an owner's discovery that his/her vehicle has been damaged in a hit-and-run, but the vehicle can still be safely driven to Police Headquarters. In such a case, the owner could make a report in person at Police Headquarters.
