Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

- M$ _; C3 k5 P+ F- provide volunteers to update membership database% o8 x, T) I9 Q# }! M
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
, X/ e8 i( I! L& b- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties, `4 \- x4 K; Q" v% O7 ?6 W+ J P
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties5 q/ `2 ~/ L3 K9 P. c! l* z: k, \
- provide volunteers for various programs 4 A0 ]+ l# m5 W, R+ j# |
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
! x" R- p( l7 V5 s( `$ k+ b- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation$ w) z( G0 i" U L+ u; C
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities- q* z7 s+ ^* E, f5 e* U% ^
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services
0 U" c1 z. s0 p, B; W4 d/ Y- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports J- _+ e$ r2 ~$ ?8 {8 N
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed0 d% t$ K3 h; m/ q
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
- b( i7 D8 S- b! w5 z: C+ w: N- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required), c5 R( o0 i" A, Q& ]9 d: W
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
& f- E0 ]) T# r. a. v- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
: R; X# l Z- S" _3 e- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
" p' Y6 c* ]; D1 {- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers ) j5 H% z! `7 E$ _$ e
- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis

- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education, ?+ q0 U1 ~: F2 t F3 Y
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
4 ]5 i8 C/ t- K- K- E2 e- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
- f7 `, v' Y0 \8 {- leadership skills$ P/ P" F1 R3 w4 T
- management and supervision skills2 D' B& ]4 p1 `$ h' q
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills6 J" w2 [7 p- ~! R3 O
