CALGARY — A teen girl was taken to Foothills Hospital in potentially life-threatening condition Monday morning after a head-on collision that involved a "complicated extrication" near Chestermere.

, l& u$ X' l8 qAt around 8:30 a.m., RCMP, Chestermere fire crews and Calgary EMS personnel were called to Highway 791 just east of Calgary after a pick-up truck and smaller car crashed head-on, said EMS spokesman Stuart Brideaux.! q9 Z- j" A1 g/ Q/ [
3 q% ` r6 m& [) e- bThe female driver in her mid-teens, who was the lone occupant of the small car, sustained serious and potentially life-threatening injuries and needed to be extricated from the vehicle by fire crews.

( d5 V! U* R$ V0 a8 o6 e) SSTARS Air Ambulance was called to take the girl to the Foothills Hospital.
