Job Purpose:
: Q" [3 R, v4 `. v# M+ K* iTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
/ d) i/ g4 v5 r' E- L6 T•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
" F" b' o3 r3 l' i, V•        Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:  
•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
) X0 S* ]3 X7 t# R9 A. J6 ^9 o2 D•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
6 J/ U/ z) k+ t•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
4 j# ]5 E5 H  K•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

& G% w$ ?5 V' T8 B3 s8 WQualifications:
•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
* R+ f  a7 h# d, I•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
' ~3 {. h9 O0 Y& E& }! P•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;

•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
•        Conflict resolution skills;
! p9 Q6 e7 k9 o* [- _•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
•        Committed and passionate about children;
