Job Purpose:
2 Q+ Q+ O# u, a; w" E& @) u4 N# [To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)2 M; Y d' w% u+ [4 Q

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
. c+ R$ S; d& D2 e, [& Q: p9 X3 h* W• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;/ q0 _; H$ S _3 a: }) k$ E$ `/ H) S/ h
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
$ ^$ P L/ w/ k• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
+ N2 ]6 B. e) g8 C( h) C• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise; * z; a1 C2 d- T3 O
• Risk Management and succession planning;

A/ ~% {3 K8 HProgram Duties and Responsibilities include: & ]- f( o8 C! \8 B- B: E u
• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
2 `4 ]3 ]- P2 m v: o2 k' v3 Q• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;( J P* W: q% ^7 i% D6 L6 Q! n6 {1 A G
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;9 c9 A# ]% H6 d, y* j# x
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities: e2 S+ X3 V! J
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
, H* G( |: O( k! f2 R• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
# `9 a* [3 Z5 R* b: e/ m• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
! o/ y/ r0 w; _5 y5 |, s9 x• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications: V0 b3 b( g! o9 J$ y
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;) m( i* ^3 F" h0 T; A# d5 `
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;7 t& b* H' ^& M5 w
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; , X6 X& G0 z6 Z3 ~
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
5 O) x3 L4 \- M& K• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
3 ]' B& m* y6 x% Y• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
7 t! ?* V& G9 l4 s• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;. W3 h6 H+ K! B- `
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;1 t- t2 x$ \' I+ y0 p5 S
• Current valid drivers license;0 @8 W0 f; W5 K O
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;8 T( |: l0 k/ Q# v ]) B
• Conflict resolution skills;0 R0 C6 o/ {* R
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;) X4 C! }+ y* E! `3 I6 B
• Committed and passionate about children;
