Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:
, H" [. s" I+ v2 j% d3 r: dTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 1 w& v2 J; h' X$ i3 }( t
% }, F& X5 [. P f5 M* \+ d; a; WThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)$ e7 t h- f( I) D3 b

• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;, w4 s) O" Z6 M+ N2 |6 o
• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;) h' x- L3 n3 \2 J! }7 }% s' W
• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;* r B9 O( y$ v' W
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
+ v- u9 |& T& S+ w# K% }8 W) X• Risk Management and succession planning;

• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
% N! z( [% j3 d( ^! U2 M8 ?2 n% ~• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;1 g m6 ?% g$ g1 O! t
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;: \0 n, u" ]0 g0 l
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities2 y! u! `4 S: j1 q! H; C
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;# B' X( \8 N' Z
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
$ W! X% q8 ?( J• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
: E* \. b' s3 I2 k! w• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;. m7 O% x0 U3 A3 X$ Q! s$ S
. V1 b) D4 v" o3 o7 fQualifications:- _: N9 x( \9 X: ], T+ N8 D! L
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;2 k, A" ~' b- A$ K2 z$ K
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
' V' @& M( t, f2 b* N- ?. w, u• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations; # i6 y$ ]1 b+ I* N, D! V8 \# |
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
* |0 [+ K3 Y0 B+ y• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
2 _2 p0 F6 V- n- n. r• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
, h( {( e# O& b: M1 J• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
7 e+ s3 m! s6 i, b• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
1 U- V6 s% O, p& H• Current valid drivers license;' e0 F9 S) c6 ^8 ~/ Z0 R: ^3 N! O
• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
& M: w& i* U6 n0 w/ C+ t• Conflict resolution skills;$ P8 @$ T; y0 Y4 r
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
+ R; k# Z5 C" h5 a• Committed and passionate about children;% U9 `' \! y2 I+ O

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
