Job Purpose:
; A) C( y( L" }& ^4 mTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

7 E2 t( z. ^ R' |This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)6 I9 Z V4 B# u ]

• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
; H+ `$ v/ `& y• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
' H. ]0 `! H7 V" F* l' \- A• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
' f# S$ F) l- e# R1 ?5 Y. m/ h• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
! V# G3 b$ E; T1 ~* c• Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
9 ]# S8 e3 Y$ c' L• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;; X F" J3 Z6 x p
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;; C# P, c$ k, v8 v% W
• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
: \! D2 ^: B" ]# q• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities% x9 X# L. s: W0 r8 J; E* |% g
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;" G l& {# d3 v6 z5 v+ N
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;7 i" V/ @+ V) J. U& Z( D) q
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;

Qualifications:
0 E0 V9 o/ x& D d& A! w0 {1 r• Degree in communications, human services or related field;* x' G) E; C: L! g
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
) b/ A) H# \$ \' }! ?• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
2 l3 D3 ~* m7 x* Q! C7 \• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
! q% E3 [6 j2 @( S• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
% G- O7 {6 T% W u w• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
3 F3 V% k# B1 _9 w# M# }+ c• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
3 z; u$ u# x+ l1 F% i8 V3 |5 ?1 f• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;6 F$ d5 F7 p$ `% \: l8 Y
• Current valid drivers license;
: L9 [0 j+ A# e0 `2 s• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
! w' N |+ Y; }+ y7 n• Conflict resolution skills;
