Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:
: Q" [3 R, v4 `. v# M+ K* iTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. $ h9 V$ B: j  ^1 b7 L) [+ Z

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)2 m- ]! l$ e$ [6 f: L; C  F

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:* q' {- X; ]) h- M
•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;' y$ g$ q) p% x5 W/ D
•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;% W3 w2 \( H7 K9 u9 |3 f7 U
•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
/ d) i/ g4 v5 r' E- L6 T•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
" F" b' o3 r3 l' i, V•        Risk Management and succession planning;
3 N; I9 d( Q0 ^& h* s4 M0 s& A# ~! o; V7 V4 r6 E5 _$ p
Program Duties and Responsibilities include:  # y& m& J  t$ ~6 n$ |, Z
•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;, l/ x% _; I0 B- }5 {/ j- A! b  r
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
) X0 S* ]3 X7 t# R9 A. J6 ^9 o2 D•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;6 ^' E; W8 U* R8 F. e
•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
6 J/ U/ z) k+ t•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;" J. G2 M) |4 l4 ~$ r9 z, j
•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
4 j# ]5 E5 H  K•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;$ W/ F2 n+ ?1 i/ y3 Y% Z
•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

& G% w$ ?5 V' T8 B3 s8 WQualifications:% Y$ E9 T! |$ m
•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
* R+ f  a7 h# d, I•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
' ~3 {. h9 O0 Y& E& }! P•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  6 N0 `- p$ S. V9 s5 V
•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;$ J' A/ g( V" d6 [
•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.4 k6 I7 T5 G/ E8 \/ {$ `
•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;" }) O6 G" ^5 y, X
•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;: N: |. K: a" E4 b7 A
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
0 n5 K3 G6 o( {, R•        Current valid drivers license;! y7 X% H5 j8 M
•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;. S9 t7 P( f1 t: H
•        Conflict resolution skills;
! p9 Q6 e7 k9 o* [- _•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;; `$ ?( X" Y: k" e0 A8 d
•        Committed and passionate about children;0 M5 |$ d! I# ]- d2 c9 C0 ?8 d
