To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

: j3 z5 l2 `2 e/ I5 {; N" A) |This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

Administrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
5 S' i* F  t4 N2 f4 m) k•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
. D: E* {; J5 Z9 ~) m6 w•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
•        Risk Management and succession planning;

# h: c, e! d& I) V1 ^+ ^2 \! qProgram Duties and Responsibilities include:  
- p! U, E$ V( i; @•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
# _- ?0 X# a" k& x•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
7 g& y, ?2 _/ u6 P  r/ K2 P* k* w•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
, J1 T/ y8 w( H  o9 K2 `•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
9 Q& X3 e/ _8 b! ?9 `$ I•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:
•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
# D0 w: F3 n) }, \1 v•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
8 J  U3 L) t' r+ G•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
; R+ I: G' W3 P$ O. \5 y. H0 ~•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
•        Current valid drivers license;
•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;

•        Clear understanding of professional boundaries;
•        Committed and passionate about children;

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
