Job Title: Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)3 U7 \2 B% i& e# w C

• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
) R( P2 r7 ~" j6 h% ?8 h& `& j; T• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
' e) g* s, Y6 X& P/ f• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;/ a1 V! b9 n: o. O
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
. Z3 K7 L @5 f# ]3 V• Risk Management and succession planning;

• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;# E: ]0 e6 t. E/ J7 r" M
• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
( D* c4 `6 S/ O' Q2 ?0 z/ Q! [• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;# r0 |/ L. s+ T& P. O: o& Z8 a
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities8 \& D( ~- O. O# a
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
8 ?6 y1 i! v& E m1 A3 q* @• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
. E% Q$ U. \. m4 Y, a! C• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;

Qualifications:8 }4 C9 r" D- V+ x/ y' e) [, M. C6 v, w
• Degree in communications, human services or related field;
' E1 x! P4 I9 V: Q/ F9 U# D3 T• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;! O9 f% ~6 j2 r: a, ]
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
3 \$ B% v1 d7 M% C9 Y) m2 A• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;# f# X2 F! x+ l" U0 V
• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
5 l# m8 C1 ^ I3 d2 j• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
5 F" R3 R3 U. I* @5 y9 ^3 q• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;5 F$ t4 ~7 u& ^ _& s
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;7 ^, U2 y1 u" q7 j( c9 x
• Current valid drivers license;
& u. [0 H C- m+ i• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
6 Y3 o2 h x. Q+ s, A• Conflict resolution skills;
' V6 E, W0 d! n/ O9 V1 {• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;) l# f$ Z5 P I& r( _
• Committed and passionate about children;# r D: r/ i4 T$ o2 A

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
