Job Purpose:
; _6 f1 u6 B% f2 \! hTo support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise. This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth. Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes. 7 S( x) M' x- \

This is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming. (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)0 [+ x' o: B. B4 N' s- U: v! L

6 C6 P$ I9 N) a( Q6 y• Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
: b4 ?, _7 b* z2 B! R% w0 E0 q+ R• Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
B9 u/ O/ m0 K7 L• Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;. t& ~* ?& {8 l; Q6 ^; Q
• Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:
- D* d2 ?0 f- V1 l• Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
0 U2 Q, ?2 S4 F+ Z3 {$ T* L• Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
, p+ s9 z% ^% G7 s. B, l9 I• Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;; x4 O' F: x, b) l
• Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities* ]- l; a1 ~+ A9 }: C6 c$ a
• Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;* K9 u# {. {& A
• Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
; @' C* U2 H% o' ~• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;, I) u9 P6 j' z
• Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

Qualifications:
& e+ s; i" t ]; c: a# y8 [3 g• Degree in communications, human services or related field;8 P. T6 ], ^/ x$ c. {9 @5 k
• Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;) w% v7 z$ q) S1 |; w7 P# S9 s/ R/ O
• Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;
4 a9 A8 l/ U5 \3 ^6 H• Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
) k+ @4 B' g( h• The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.4 ~) X3 A# {4 r K% E# c- e
• Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
c/ a1 r" Q% `0 i• Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;2 w$ I4 K5 }. M* d6 \; n9 ~
• Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;; b1 {/ p' Z' O6 v% k! h" O: U( O1 B% D, w
• Current valid drivers license;
/ S" u3 k' R) o# L& F• Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;/ J: M" m( p9 F, q$ V1 u) ?
• Conflict resolution skills;- ~1 _( T5 c- w$ f7 {( H1 w
• Clear understanding of professional boundaries;+ P& N) _7 T# q/ O
• Committed and passionate about children;

Salary is negotiable and will depend on qualifications and experience.
