Job Title:        Program Manager Abbottsfield Youth Project

Job Purpose:
To support the Executive Director with fundraising, special events and will be instrumental in the development of our Social Enterprise.  This position will also be working directly with children 6-12 years old to teach life skills such as self esteem, communication skills, peer relations using recreation and physical activities to promote growth.  Small group facilitation, one-to-ones, family support, advocacy and referrals are used to achieve program outcomes.

7 j* i) y  M% L* H: G* U- H/ [" pThis is a full time, one year term position working 37.5 hours per week with 10-15 hours per week dedicated to the children’s programming.   (Continuation of this position will depend on available funding)

* u( H7 m5 z+ c, Y3 CAdministrative Duties and Responsibilities include:
•        Working together with the Executive Director to solidify new funding opportunities and write funding reports as needed;
0 U. b& h9 a7 q. A•        Supporting in the overall development of programs and activities that benefit our community and our children;
•        Maintaining and evaluating program outcomes;
- G# f, u) L; F) D; k4 h•        Spearheading the further develop our social enterprise;
•        Risk Management and succession planning;

Program Duties and Responsibilities include:  
) ~1 |: U7 B+ j) f0 L) ?2 M•        Maintaining comprehensive and objective contact notes related to child or conversations with others about child;
•        Maintaining confidentiality related to all participant information;
•        Liaising and/or advocate with school personnel, parent/guardian, and child, as required;
$ [0 k7 m& c) V) X" W•        Creatively planning, organizing, and evaluating small group and one-to-one activities
7 b$ d9 o) ~# K9 U•        Participating in establishing achievable program outcomes and employ group strategies and activities to achieve the same;
% ?0 V* i+ M: `' i' E) j8 C& ^' x2 ?•        Meeting with participants on a one-to-one basis to help them achieve success with their goals;
! F3 ~0 H& T# e& I•        Building and maintaining positive relationships with children in groups;
; q" i! ^9 i/ L* R" }6 D4 @•        Participating in the planning and implementation of family activities for participants & families;

( J; J- Z9 Y2 \# Z9 |% l, xQualifications:
5 r) E/ e" M! q% k•        Degree in communications, human services or related field;
* h. J0 g, I9 P3 ?6 F- `•        Extensive knowledge of the not for profit or voluntary sector;
•        Knowledge of all federal and provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations;  
•        Excellent oral and written communication skills with experience in writing funding proposals and reports a must;
7 U" `3 b2 `, f5 O6 k•        The abilities to multi-task, creatively problem solve, communicate effectively, foster teamwork, and build relationships are critical.
7 ]* y( z8 _3 n3 F% d( x•        Extensive experience in group facilitation and working with children;
•        Current certificates in Aboriginal Cultural Awareness, Suicide Intervention, Standard First Aid and CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention are preferred;
4 C0 U( F- ^4 i4 V•        Clear CYIM, Security Clearance, and Driver’s Abstract;
•        Current valid drivers license;
•        Knowledge of and comfort with the implementation of behavioural intervention strategies;
•        Conflict resolution skills;
