Career Edge Organization is currently looking for help to fill a great internship opportunity for a Letter of Credit Officer with Scotiabank located in Calgary.

•        Several years of practical experience in Trade Finance activities

9 j; k" n- Q, b' e•        Thorough and complete knowledge of the Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits, the Bills of Exchange Act, INCOTERMS, world shipping practices, and Canadian / Foreign customs
/ ^* F2 A0 O$ s) B  c$ F+ M
•        Strong knowledge of statutory requirements, International Law and Customs relating to Letters of Credit and Bank policy as high level transactional support to customers is required
) i% H, U# k1 L& C4 U  c
! T4 ?3 i1 O8 x9 Q" j•        Capable of applying knowledge in accurately assessing / mitigating transaction and compliance risks and making judgemental decisions on problem transactions

  F2 D- c9 [7 g•        Comfortable working in an environment involving significant risk exposure to the Bank.

& g( m% F; T# F1 Z•        Possess an ability to evaluate high risk, complex transactions and make recommendations to the Senior Assistant Manager to minimize and or mitigate potential losses to the Bank and its customers.

Internationally qualified professionals who:

) V! X6 f( M3 J) f•        have the equivalent of a Canadian bachelor’s degree and a completed education credential assessment
•        have at least 3 years of international work experience in their field
. ]" }1 C5 `) r1 r) a8 P4 l, c•        have little or no career related Canadian work experience
•        have been in Canada for less than 3 years
