Position Title: Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker

Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Integrated Service Program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment and Immigration, the Receptionist/Immigrant Services Worker will answer a multi-line phone calls professional, politely, and directing the calls correctly; assist in clerical needs of the ISP team; assist with providing counter service and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker. 9 \& p' }, v) H4 g; N

$ {. E9 j- e9 V& d( B3 b• Answer incoming calls and route calls to appropriate person
/ v3 [" l) A# c* C$ H9 l/ E$ F• Take and deliver messages to the staff of ASSIST( f7 U$ O& ^2 n9 l2 H
• Welcome clients and direct them appropriately0 P9 P0 \7 G9 |/ J& p
• Order and maintain office supplies for the front counter& X& x' I6 G- W- ~# i: t: z2 l* G
• Perform general clerical functions such as photocopying and faxing documents
# ~. W0 Q+ w! u4 \3 H. [8 B• Provide assistance to immigrants and clients seeking settlement related services in the capacity of immigrant services worker6 i, o" A1 M1 ]) X% [+ N1 C7 A
• Maintain and update the information boards with upcoming events6 \6 ~, ?2 _& L1 ~0 e: w
• Assist the ISP team in reminding clients to appointments of workshops or other events

• Attend meeting and training to stay current on immigrant settlement matters

• Perform general office duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
7 Y s1 h5 F9 a8 J9 A7 t: r8 _• Excellent communication (verbal and listening) on phone and in person
* l6 J4 w7 }0 B7 o• Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese as an asset
, s; ?% U, ]$ g5 g* ^6 H% m2 N• Good English writing and oral communication skills
! ~3 W6 z% j& S• Ability to work with newcomers and general clients
$ G7 R" C* D! r1 _• Microsoft Office operation skills- Excel, Word, Outlook9 S5 b Z9 z! F4 e
• Ability to address multi-task and set priority appropriately ( E) l% U- |9 r* V. o
• Sensitive to the needs of immigrants with multicultural backgrounds* J1 [/ n% @, ~

• Knowledge of immigrant services3 C" P9 I p0 @8 [& [

" h, J; p. f8 B• 2-4 years of office and clerical experience " t; w6 ^% ^6 U [
• Receptionist or customer service experience in a fast paced environment9 Y5 Y: x/ z, X6 b' q7 _1 E
• Demonstrate workplace maturity and professionalism' C. n( q" _3 y1 o
• Ability to work well under minimal supervision
