Reporting to the Team Lead for Drilling and completions, the Senior Drilling Engineer will perform all aspects of well design including; Casing and Tubing Design, Mud Systems, Fluid Hydraulics, Primary and Remedial Cementing, Specialized Technical Software for tubular design and effect improvements in drilling efficacy.

0 v' W. J7 T# c; p9 _( PMust be proficient with technical software, specifically related to drilling engineering e.g. stresscheck
* B0 a2 m/ Z* o: `. V" T) i! ]For each well, confirm casing/tubing stress analysis, mud/hydraulics programs, cementing program, collision avoidance criteria% o+ r! i% H' |; c
Prepare Drilling Program, Basis of Design, ADW and other special operations programs as required in the course of the operation 4 s- R( g& S& J0 n
Steward to the recently implemented Well Delivery Model for Suncor including multi discipline peer reviews and post well reviews
) n: |, f0 f+ E1 s( {Prepare End of Well Report which details cost analysis, operation analysis and provides recommendations for continuous improvement 3 _$ A9 {6 _% \! d' z
Prepare technical specifications to be used in tenders for materials, services and equipment used in the drilling operations % J: c, h! ^: _5 L4 p. X7 Q
Stays abreast of current technology and Best Practices within and industry and recommend the application of new technology
- T! ~$ K Y' @9 v# wPrepare management of change for drilling programs as needed
5 k Y, O; n4 d# OCommunicate regularly with the cross discipline members of the NAO Team on progression, lessons learned cost and efficiency improvements as well as investigation on operational setbacks3 c9 ? {: `- D, P" \) ?4 A" w6 _* M3 }
Mentor junior staff$ v6 Q! V: \6 V x7 a+ i6 C
Participate in cross company technical forums on drilling and completion technology# l" {+ L4 @" m1 [3 O: Z) s

The preferred candidate will be a registered Professional Engineer with APEGA
5 C \" T( U/ u' J( [$ {Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word & Excel as well as casing design software such as Stresscheck or equivalent* F6 w* H. k5 O
Service company or oil company drilling or completions operations experience preferred

Excellent interpersonal skills - must be able to communicate at all levels and work in a team environment
