JOB FUNCTIONS:

3 A8 n) R8 j. b& y• Support capital projects and network build activity with coordination, installation, and commissioning duties • Respond to corrective network problems, performing effective/efficient problem analysis, rapid troubleshooting diagnosis and prompt repair of equipment to ensure service restoral objectives are met.

7 K, |2 L5 s- g) [8 `* y• Coordinate with other Technicians and departments as required to obtain maintain service levels.

, U5 a4 Y! |; s# ]  z' x) ^+ S% G• Plan for and implement preventive maintenance routines to ensure network standards of performance are met.

• Maintain "up-to-date" site documentation as outlined by the EWO initiative.

" |- C3 ^6 y  c5 J; x( G• Perform acceptance tests on newly installed sites and equipment to ensure results meet design specifications.

" j, s/ r% j) H! T. X% U$ a4 x• Microwave and Transmission experience (e.g. DS1, DS2 ,DS3, OC3, OC12, IP) • Gain in depth knowledge of key quality service indicators in geographic area of responsibility.

. R+ H3 v" H( g. ]• Optical Fiber, SONET and knowledge of TCP/IP • Participate in retune activities associated with network optimization and build activities.

• Maintain inventory of required parts and perform regular audits to ensure availability of parts.

& u4 }/ g! \& w- f* a# C• Administrative reporting of Mileage, Timesheet, Expenses, Equipment and Deficiency ticket updates etc.

• Test hand-offs, RSSI, transmit level on mobiles, dropped calls and investigate any changes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

, j  T! O* j+ z• 5 years of telecommunications experience.

- C0 h/ t: G0 O  T2 Z9 V• Diploma or Certificate in Electronics from a technical institute.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Demonstrated investigative, problem solving, analysis and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.

• Standby, overtime and shift work is required.

The Manager is looking for a contractor with the following skills:

-Telecom Diploma with at least 2 years of post secondary education -Experience working at a cell site -Must be willing to travel around Alberta (expenses will be reimbursed) -Experience with Spectrum Analyzers, Internet Protocol Analyzers, RFC testing and Microwave testing *The manager is not looking for Engineers.
