Job Description:         

JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Support capital projects and network build activity with coordination, installation, and commissioning duties • Respond to corrective network problems, performing effective/efficient problem analysis, rapid troubleshooting diagnosis and prompt repair of equipment to ensure service restoral objectives are met.

# |6 h$ T2 t. Z• Coordinate with other Technicians and departments as required to obtain maintain service levels.

• Plan for and implement preventive maintenance routines to ensure network standards of performance are met.

• Perform cutovers and upgrades on the network as directed by work orders.

+ D. ^) C! `$ c+ [. t• Maintain "up-to-date" site documentation as outlined by the EWO initiative.

3 F# w9 i) V. H  b+ P) ^• Perform acceptance tests on newly installed sites and equipment to ensure results meet design specifications.

• Microwave and Transmission experience (e.g. DS1, DS2 ,DS3, OC3, OC12, IP) • Gain in depth knowledge of key quality service indicators in geographic area of responsibility.

* n* @, e, k# [* _% A" |• Optical Fiber, SONET and knowledge of TCP/IP • Participate in retune activities associated with network optimization and build activities.

$ N! V! \* O4 o, l: b( h% F• Maintain inventory of required parts and perform regular audits to ensure availability of parts.

/ k  M: ?3 S7 r• Administrative reporting of Mileage, Timesheet, Expenses, Equipment and Deficiency ticket updates etc.

• Test hand-offs, RSSI, transmit level on mobiles, dropped calls and investigate any changes.

• Document activities for future assessment analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5 years of telecommunications experience.

2 A8 B5 y7 p, `( q. a• Diploma or Certificate in Electronics from a technical institute.

6 O, j  D/ N% `) o2 V3 C: P0 h• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

The Manager is looking for a contractor with the following skills:

-Telecom Diploma with at least 2 years of post secondary education -Experience working at a cell site -Must be willing to travel around Alberta (expenses will be reimbursed) -Experience with Spectrum Analyzers, Internet Protocol Analyzers, RFC testing and Microwave testing *The manager is not looking for Engineers.
