If you answered “No” to all the other questions but think you can speak and understand French or English well enough to apply for citizenship, you should take a third party language test approved by CIC. Submit the results with your application.

•CELPIP-General test: you need a score of 2H or higher (3L, 3H, 4L, 4H, 5 or 6) in speaking and listening; OR
7 k8 \% w9 \8 q5 M, L•CELPIP-General LS (a two-skills, listening and speaking version of the CELPIP-General test): you need a score of 2H or higher (3L, 3H, 4L, 4H, 5 or 6) in listening and speaking; OR; c% l) a0 w$ U, z% W" f5 [
•IELTS General training test: you need a score of 4.0 or higher in speaking, and 4.5 or higher in listening; OR, {, h0 M5 s+ h5 g) [+ X
•TEF test: you need a score of B1 or higher (B2, C1 or C2) in listening and speaking; OR6 H% h% ~7 M# B1 S% T" P
•TEFAQ or TEF épreuves orales: both are two-skills (listening and speaking) versions of the TEF. You need a score of B1 or higher (B2, C1 or C2).7 p6 @* c8 t* @/ Y M, y. F
