not do any of the following:
( L, ~3 r: r, }( G8 c3 Q0 C) N(a) drive a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor

(b) have a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor

(c) where a person is the registered owner of a motor vehicle,3 A- T1 r0 R0 j, ^4 n: J! _
permit another person, c7 t& n! g8 k, N0 T
(i) to drive the motor vehicle on a highway, or
. }4 T' w4 b$ q+ n H0 c(ii) to have the motor vehicle on a highway,
) T1 P* x" s/ H1 H# O/ gunless the motor vehicle is an insured motor vehicle;
+ w' k3 x0 P/ r1 k* d) X(d) give or lend a financial! K* u& L- ~" f# R9 P( s6 ^
responsibility card or a copy of it
" n7 l ~- P ?" fto a person not entitled to have that financial

without the expressed or implied consent of the registered owner of
# t. m7 x7 ~* @3 T h" tthe vehicle, that person is deemed for the purposes of subsection0 ?( r7 U8 ?! D& Z& T) U6 E6 `" K
(1)(a) or (b) to drive or have on a highway a motor vehicle that is4 |% Y, w8 {, @8 y" {0 R
not an insured motor vehicle.- V) r. A8 O- Z) p& E, y& j: l8 E
(2)( `5 q0 g4 Y) w1 M4 Q6 Q! |4 C
If the registration of a motor vehicle is suspended under this- a0 b" `) |5 X
Act, the motor vehicle is still registered for the purposes of this

Subsection (1)(a) and (b) do not apply to a person to whom a
' y+ s) j; V3 G6 @9 s# afinancial responsibility card has been issued pursuant to the
9 X' J6 b+ n& H+ {9 Q2 X4 JInsurance Act+ H% ^( n, c0 ]7 a! w9 x
by an insurer who has issued an owner’s policy. e J+ a X! U a
outside Alberta.
0 Y" m( @8 {, l2 @! f% j j/ a(4)
2 X* `, ^: ^2 b9 Y& x% m# GA person, other than a corporation, who contravenes subsection
1 F. P: M- c+ q- b' A(1) or section 52(1)(h) or 167(8) is liable,7 p5 E+ q9 Z# H7 v p ^ }
(a) for the first contravention, to a fine of not less than $2500
; ^6 O, _7 f8 |4 Fand not more than $10 000 and in default of payment to
! e9 X) B+ G' i" nimprisonment for a term of not less than 45 days and not
0 M/ T* l9 E0 X, Bmore than 6 months

Minimum $2500, if you don't pay, you will go to jail for a minimum of 45 days. |
