d* ?- F% |7 M$ aExcept as otherwise permitted under this Act, a person shall

# I& \, [$ H0 w; ~(a) drive a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor

(b) have a motor vehicle on a highway unless the motor

(i) to drive the motor vehicle on a highway, or. U+ d) n5 Q9 _, U+ K
(ii) to have the motor vehicle on a highway,

responsibility card or a copy of it+ I: |0 W+ W1 y w4 b/ G2 u6 j
to a person not entitled to have that financial/ S- ^% _) y9 R- ^+ N/ t# s

If a person drives or has a motor vehicle on a highway
) n% g7 ]' u. P& {without the expressed or implied consent of the registered owner of
, m* g9 c/ N& V; n; T/ g# P, D) Jthe vehicle, that person is deemed for the purposes of subsection
5 A( w. ~+ N1 E(1)(a) or (b) to drive or have on a highway a motor vehicle that is

financial responsibility card has been issued pursuant to the

A person, other than a corporation, who contravenes subsection
" |. z* X+ S. Z" L(1) or section 52(1)(h) or 167(8) is liable,4 l7 M# r2 ^ U+ r
(a) for the first contravention, to a fine of not less than $2500. r$ u8 g' ?2 s Q' t% D
and not more than $10 000 and in default of payment to9 g6 ^" ]1 y6 s3 ^+ Q
imprisonment for a term of not less than 45 days and not. K8 w5 P' @! N/ ]/ A G) p$ ~- g
more than 6 months
: T% [0 t4 o }# I- e" M% jMinimum $2500, if you don't pay, you will go to jail for a minimum of 45 days. |
