The Alberta Family Employment Tax Credit (AFETC) is a program funded by the Alberta government to help working families provide for their children. The AFETC supports families financially and encourages self-reliance and stability. Over the 2011-12 benefit year, the Alberta Family Employment Tax Credit provided about $114 million in tax relief to about 137,000 Alberta families.

◾to support children in low and middle income families, and

Who is Eligible? " H' O4 R' P. A$ {. x+ j* g
2 i& _4 U* k s, n# uIf you meet the following criteria, you qualify for the AFETC:/ Q# e1 h5 a4 I8 s5 Y5 F( y7 W
◾Resident of Alberta for at least one month, % A) j h n9 P( \6 T2 n& H9 {
◾Parent of one or more children under 18,
2 L: m0 ^ I0 e! }: ]+ i◾More than $2,760 annual family working income, and
* I( K2 l8 {: m( m◾A family net income of less than $53,725 for families with one child, $70,275 for families with two children, $80,200 for families with three children, and $83,500 for families with four or more children.

You could receive up to a maximum of $1,919 for your family for the twelve month period beginning July 2013. The maximum amounts (as of July 1, 2013) are as follows:/ ~7 |+ y2 o' Y- L

◾third child - $397;
