An ATV crash in western Manitoba has left a woman dead and a man, who was knocked into spillway, missing and presumed drowned. CBC's Nelly Gonzalez reports.

According to RCMP, a 58-year-old woman tried to drive an ATV down an embankment by the Rivers Reservoir spillway, just before 8:30 p.m. on July 12.6 s7 } B/ V$ s+ L
# S; ?, I9 A0 Z" W( E4 Y* j" j8 sShe lost control of the machine and hit a 39-year-old man, who was fishing. The woman, from the town of Rivers, was pronounced dead at the scene.' ?- x$ X2 t) ^

The man, from Brandon, was knocked into the fast-moving water and disappeared. Rescue efforts failed to locate the man, who is presumed drowned.- F; a% n1 r9 ?" S( \3 j4 F

Search efforts and the investigation into the incident are both ongoing, RCMP said.$ O/ H3 N) M' }4 [

A Brandon man is presumed drowned after he was knocked into the fast-moving waters of the Rivers Reservoir Spillway on July 12 by a woman on an ATV. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Search efforts are still underway, as well as an RCMP investigation. (Nelly Gonzalez/CBC )
