Builders started construction on 468 new single detached homes last month, a 34 per cent increase from August 2013./ X7 [1 N# _) w
; l8 O, h( y2 Q5 V“Right now we're running flat out, we’re building as much as we can,” said Rob Busby, construction manager for Landmark Homes.' L# O7 L$ @ L2 z( d! x$ r
; b$ O, F; P9 {+ p' RThe increased demand is due to strong job and population growth, according to Christina Butchart, senior analyst with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
