Edmonton home builders say they are working non-stop to meet a demand they haven’t seen since the boom of 2005.& Q" C' ~' u; z K6 T: q/ |& n
. A) {$ F6 X0 [; P/ j8 vBuilders started construction on 468 new single detached homes last month, a 34 per cent increase from August 2013.

“Right now we're running flat out, we’re building as much as we can,” said Rob Busby, construction manager for Landmark Homes.

+ Z6 }( i$ M; m; A/ H- lThe increased demand is due to strong job and population growth, according to Christina Butchart, senior analyst with the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
