EDMONTON — The West Edmonton Mall has reopened after police investigated a suspicious package Tuesday morning.5 Y& f0 U; m+ }* `6 ^( Q
/ x/ T5 ?* e& _ F+ j( K' NThe item, which turned out to be a DVD player, was reported to police just after 8:30 a.m. and officers swooped in to shut down entrances to the shopping centre.
" U6 w; j6 z7 |+ }! V
5 b' [) k0 r% W3 c) e- CPolice evacuated the mall, and a short time later determined the package was merely a DVD player left on a bench outside the SportCheck store.
