* ~, F% S, L: R% A0 A, VHis wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary.
/ }, P3 G x# N' a0 VAfter many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home,
3 q+ @+ Z4 V( `/ r2 q: Z: U, q9 Dhe smiled sweetly when told his room was ready. ; u$ u C% [% m( R; O+ I
! Y7 ^0 F8 a2 F/ J' h
As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, I provided a visual
0 p5 X: `- |, v7 {+ g4 ?description of his tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been ; T+ C$ _( \5 P8 K& C4 @" ]$ s+ v. g4 q
hung on his window.

"I love it," he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having , j7 T9 |7 l9 R5 m; t0 Y/ G
just been presented with a new puppy. ( v _2 q: T! i7 T

"Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my

I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it."

It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up.

Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open I'll focus on the new : _/ T A) _5 W- _ W" \! R
day and all the happy memories I've stored away. # x5 A( g* U) M7 _ T0 `; a

Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you've put in. 4 K) |" G: Y+ _/ c& h: L

So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank $ C% g+ c$ Y+ @( N
