Today I was volunteering at a post office. A man in an old jacket with uncombed hair came to the counter. He had a wallet in his hand, and put it on the counter. He told me: h0 x7 S# w8 K+ j
"I am going to send it back". 2 z' _0 D3 }' o' ?& B; ?( O
I did not understand what he meant by "it", because usually people would send a letter or a parcel back to the sender, and I did not see he had any of those. So I asked him:
9 h$ v/ u! {! T$ o- A; E" a+ L3 ~ "I am sorry, what are you sending back?"
( _9 Y& [+ V* m9 v* v% ~2 }% ^He said, "the Wallet, I am sending back the wallet." Then he added: "I am going to pay the postage."
$ T; T) D% e5 B9 r j% c"Oh, you found a wallet, and you are going to send it back to the person who lost it?"
2 w6 q2 l$ O4 D. N"Yes, I did."0 _' g) x; a/ o" g: k! A
Finally I understood: this dishevelled man found a wallet, and he was going to return it to the owner by post.
! q! ?$ b1 |: v3 IHe took the ID card from the wallet, and showed me the address of the loser of the wallet. I saw there were several one-hundred bills in the wallet.
& `1 u: U& z! w# A"Are you going to take some money from the wallet to pay the postage?"# T: E" W1 E* A+ E
"No, I am not. I do not do those things."& t5 g- z0 [. W
He took out his wallet, which was nearly worn-out, small, and almost empty. There were some coins inside. 4 D( u& h. L5 z4 p
I gave him a bubbled envelope, and instructed him where to write the addresses. He wrote the owner's address, but stopped at writing a return address. He asked:

"Yes, you may." I thought he must want to be a nameless hero. But he said:

# f* v- t1 _4 Y7 `( G/ jI was surprised: "oh, where do you live?"
: _% L+ b4 K) H& q( LHe did not look up, and said: "I do not have a home."
8 k( o- [: e) RMy heart had a sudden jump. I realized that this is a homeless man who found money but was sending it back to the person who lost it. 1 ]; H) T( S; `; z( W% e' X
He did not a posses a home, but he had a big heart. He had the precious fortune of being a man of integrity. " @! F9 I, d; W/ D/ q- c
