Today I was volunteering at a post office. A man in an old jacket with uncombed hair came to the counter. He had a wallet in his hand, and put it on the counter. He told me:
9 K4 ^% P- ]! _7 g$ s"I am going to send it back".
. j8 Z" @) q+ o! uI did not understand what he meant by "it", because usually people would send a letter or a parcel back to the sender, and I did not see he had any of those. So I asked him:
% v8 r) M3 W. L "I am sorry, what are you sending back?"
# G5 U7 U2 h1 X) N/ m) m" KHe said, "the Wallet, I am sending back the wallet." Then he added: "I am going to pay the postage." 7 V+ m8 {4 V1 j
"Oh, you found a wallet, and you are going to send it back to the person who lost it?" # m0 n+ D6 v+ o8 m7 G+ k# k$ }
"Yes, I did." ~* j$ A. ]9 t# C
Finally I understood: this dishevelled man found a wallet, and he was going to return it to the owner by post. , n! v M6 z! A1 M) ]( w! d
He took the ID card from the wallet, and showed me the address of the loser of the wallet. I saw there were several one-hundred bills in the wallet.
# W& W+ b \- x"Are you going to take some money from the wallet to pay the postage?"
- M( K* H* t" r0 Y& b"No, I am not. I do not do those things."; t5 \! Q; W J# L
He took out his wallet, which was nearly worn-out, small, and almost empty. There were some coins inside.
- K4 {& ^: Y6 g- L6 tI gave him a bubbled envelope, and instructed him where to write the addresses. He wrote the owner's address, but stopped at writing a return address. He asked:
, p4 ~0 v3 c/ x. W2 v"Is it okay that I do not write this part?"
7 t& m9 J; R" x- i' ^"Yes, you may." I thought he must want to be a nameless hero. But he said:

I was surprised: "oh, where do you live?" X- x# \9 V, b
He did not look up, and said: "I do not have a home."
8 P+ C7 Y# ~- A- I" @. P2 \* MMy heart had a sudden jump. I realized that this is a homeless man who found money but was sending it back to the person who lost it. : y+ u4 U$ }( Z$ J! p9 K% K
He did not a posses a home, but he had a big heart. He had the precious fortune of being a man of integrity.
