CFIA在新闻稿中写道：“不管使用的面粉类型如何，生面团或面糊都不安全，因为生面粉可能被有害细菌如大肠杆菌O121污染。
最新的召回包括硬粒面粉，用于制作南亚面包的面粉，以及用于印度和巴基斯坦甜点的sooji面粉。列入名单的还有面包面粉，包括全麦和多种谷物面粉。
虽然细菌可能不会使污染的食物看起来或闻起来不正常，但CFIA说它仍然可以让你生病。可能的症状包括恶心，呕吐，轻度至严重的腹部痉挛，以及流血性腹泻。
