Location: Research Data Centre, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta

Statistics Canada is looking for a reliable individual for a part-time position to work evenings and
weekend hours.
You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Research Data Centre (RDC) computer
9 T( Q. j7 h) _$ A2 L! P! rlab located on the University of Alberta campus as well as providing administrative support for the
centre.
9 g4 @! C  `' bThese responsibilities include:
! N" r3 |# e# T: O/ A-Maintain the integrity of the security systems in the RDC.
-Provide basic support to clients on operating Window XP.
-Provide general office administration support, such as filing, upgrading software and
renewing licenses, communicating with various university departments with respect to
* q9 K0 {& t# R* Nfacilities’ maintenance, etc.
-Conduct other office related tasks, such as Internet documents search, backup of electronic
1 _& H; f5 v& Vclients’ files etc.
Statement of Qualifications
$ ?3 t, K+ }, U" @Education:
! L( t1 J% i0 C9 C& t-Successful completion of Bachelor degree in administration, business, computer sciences,
education, economics, sociology, statistics or related discipline; or an acceptable combination
of education, training and /or experience.
Knowledge/Technical competencies:
9 b: z7 C2 p' s3 F-General knowledge of the Microsoft Window operating system.
-Extensive experience in using Microsoft Window office application software including Word
8 J' o1 ]1 @) p2 u) Aand Excel.
4 m! Y  k+ r' F4 U' o( Z$ y-Experience using and updating an information database.
! ^; |7 f6 v, _* }: [
Assets:
( \8 K! l0 a8 J' ~4 W: Z-Experience in using MS Access.
% y# q' z. i  x' I7 K& M% m/ C6 M-Experience in web page publication, xml and/or IT network knowledge.
, u+ ]* N% `0 Q7 G* i$ I* `9 [0 c-Experience in one of the Statistics software: SAS, SPSS or STATA
Abilities:
- E7 k, D; n' o! D* l, k-Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
-Ability to operate a computerized system to research information.
+ x: c+ v2 F' s. }6 g0 r& L. Z-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
