The Non-ferrous laborer must be able to properly identify and sort non-ferrous metals. Applies knowledge of non-ferrous metals to properly identify materials when interacting with customers. Prepares non-ferrous materials for transport. Both indoor and outdoor, fast-paced setting.

/ H$ y5 {& ?# p2 K# u) d% Y+ F! RJob Responsibilities:; C& d8 e1 ?) |# b3 \3 i
( O/ ?& P2 k: TMust be able to sort, process, grade non-ferrous materials
, u9 e" y! K2 h* VInspects material for hazardous waste and grades different types of non-ferrous materials
8 o* d6 x4 g& P, I! xLoads and unloads non-ferrous material
! E3 T5 {( l) MMust be able to work safely at all times
- ~4 O% I$ Y% ]7 m- \Be able to effectively perform tasks independently
) w; Y( `4 ?" S; l5 W) ZPerforms routine housekeeping.
, ~- _7 h/ d6 L5 N' Y/ ^! jObserves and reports any safety issues

Job Qualifications:

Metal recycling industry experience is an asset
5 x t* J0 n6 Y9 W9 b# TExperience stripping equipment and/or with manual material sorting
' K0 U$ _) y" f2 PKnowledge of non-ferrous processing* W2 J! ?& k$ @
High school diploma (Or GED)
! h/ M! Q: a# z0 {1 V; l4 G4 ~Well-articulated and assertive" N. \* ? O e. f
Ability to effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors, maintenance personnel and other employees of the organization V1 b: \& m& T1 ?1 }/ p! W
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos7 B1 s) G$ q+ @: D
Ability to write simple correspondence/ h, I+ b9 E P1 E. V
Mechanically inclined an asset
