The University of Alberta - Department of Chemistry is currently
recruiting for the position of Laboratory Technician Assistant - Job No.

Salary to be paid will be $15.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

; _7 t# J3 j8 R" R) kDuties include: working closely with graduate students and research
technicians, the candidate will work on the synthesis of intermediates
for use in chemical and biochemical research. Particular duties will
2 ^  v' P. d$ l9 A1 ?  h  h1 Y7 ~include carrying out chemical and/or enzymatic reactions and purifying
7 ?% ^7 R% M% b7 [/ x& W9 m) P, Dcompounds by chromatography.
/ |2 x- i0 ?/ ^, E& f( ?$ Q
Qualifications include successful completion of courses in organic
Chemistry (Chemistry 263 or equivalent) and ideally biochemistry and
analytical chemistry; familiarity with basic biology and chromatographic
separations important. Attention to detail and ability to work as part
of a team essential.
6 i1 G& x7 E+ N8 FThis position will provide the candidate with experience in biochemical
3 A  x! p6 m# h# [3 h6 k* Mand chemical research and would be ideal for students who ultimately
8 N* c& \) s& Q. ^4 Z  dhope to work in these areas.
