currently recruiting for the position of Summer Program Assistant - Job

% T" z# S9 `, Y' l' R# Q4 B. w* iSalary to be paid will be $14.00 per hour (includes vacation pay, stat
pay, student premium, and second language augmentation)

1 I' a' L+ Y  M+ K6 X* f' b+ IHours per week will be 20 - 30 - 20 during the first few weeks, then 30
- 35 per week during the busy period. There may be an opportunity for
the student to stay on a casual basis (10 - 20 hours per week) once the
* ?) o! N: b- I  E' c/ |+ ^  ^* qschool year starts.

Duties include: preparing for programs by working with current staff at
CIBS to secure and schedule various program requirements (off-campus
venues, tour agents, goods and services, program materials and supplies,
6 m% t' L; m  S( C4 Eetc.); reproducing and distributing documents and correspondence for
0 b2 v1 _5 R0 U0 Jparticipants, assisting to orient participants to the University and
their program on their arrival, and trouble-shooting for them during
their program; booking program venues, setting up for sessions,
- Y& `6 v. o$ o1 e5 ^assisting visiting speakers or invited session presenters, striking
( q/ V8 G' Q0 s6 p$ Hvenue at end of session; traveling as guide with groups on in-city
outings or site visits, or, occasionally, on overnight out-of-city
1 ]  \9 h/ f  @1 Z2 y" v9 `- U4 r+ Texcursions (does not involve driving or overnight week night
; G; O% b6 H2 v& n9 ^excursions); interpreting (non-technical exchanges) at meetings or
functions; translating, revising or drafting program-related documents
such as schedules, itineraries, notices, correspondence, PowerPoint

" ?9 z# d0 N& l1 P' GQualifications include: senior undergrad student; coursework in
Commerce, Education or Economics preferred, ability to communicate
7 {8 h$ C! z+ j7 ^fluently (oral and written) in English and Mandarin Chinese,
demonstrates a high-level of self organization, initiative to undertake
a variety of tasks; ability to coordinate individual efforts with those
2 z# U/ N7 @* ^$ o" vof co-workers, excellent interpersonal organization and time-management
7 [  u: F' d1 l: wskills; accuracy to detail; working knowledge of MS applications (Word,
# I# |) D& \2 BExcel, PowerPoint and Outlook); administrative experience an asset,
experience coordinating group activities an asset.
