JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
' \3 Z0 @0 x% Gcarrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
8 w/ l, w. ?; f1 S. Bcustomer service and room cleanliness.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.
8 U7 c% D' h( a
2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
accordance with Students' Union policies.
; g) Q1 _0 n! d( }' B9 F
3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
; A; V# R* k; m& F3 c! A$ }including regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
+ Y- S0 T2 P  k3 {0 Oand ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

1 p% L4 q7 q3 _. U  ]' g! S3 f& A+ u5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
action when necessary in accordance with established Server  
intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
: r  C% [" n, |. i# s  k6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
& z1 f/ t9 p( P& jAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations  
/ W5 |7 {  ?- p6 J. QManager.

QUALIFICATIONS;
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
* i* D+ C* O% |  k1 `0 U/ q
0 h( r% [$ e3 y2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
, F' i$ r" V/ p6 q$ _' r& }operation.

5 l" {0 p: }) w1 N3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
" w, X- l5 V. v; lpolicy.
4 a( Y7 Y7 [+ g
4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
+ p' P+ f( d& Q' y! Mcard transactions.
, [0 {, Z3 ^, C4 j  `  \" S
5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
# N7 m# m  j' V. D2 m4 M8 Hpurchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
