Thursdays

. w2 c5 W4 Y# w( [6 T; a$ sJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  
& `: m( F  ^1 s8 [$ DBartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for  
: u1 x% _' f2 Kcarrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of  
! ?. c0 l6 t% _) L8 T4 b1 Mcustomer service and room cleanliness.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
1) Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage  
orders.

5 v; M( g+ U1 x) M5 Y2) Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a  
high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in  
" r; W6 ]* B2 f0 Z+ E9 naccordance with Students' Union policies.
# Q$ t$ K7 J: S
0 m  E4 o4 T) H; L2 y+ d, D% G% Q! R3) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the  
5 K( G% S! q- ], v/ N. Ttotal cash-out value of items sold on each shift.

5 Q: [6 V% p. N4 {4 J7 o1 r4) Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness,  
7 j$ j% x0 d9 Mincluding regular bussing and wiping of tables, full ashtray removal  
8 ~* v  n( U- l: w* c* O) nand ensuring floor surface cleanliness.

! S- E. Q9 J/ z1 |5) Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate  
* a' |% _  I: \: {5 P3 xaction when necessary in accordance with established Server  
6 o: J9 Z; H6 n' [intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
* Z" T9 A5 ~7 d. v  ~6) To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
7 ]  M9 C# @$ U% m) I0 g3 U8 v* H& mAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.

; V1 Y3 z$ k8 K6 p. I7) Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations

8 f7 t& D! @9 [. |& fQUALIFICATIONS;
, o7 E% j* U8 t1 `/ P1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.
' G. U, x% i! D$ K- \
2) Minimum one year serving experience in a high-volume, food-based  
operation.
) C* j1 P. O: S) X% n3 l
. l8 _1 _8 \0 N9 R. f, P. Q( h, u3) Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students' Union  
0 f$ P+ m( z& H9 `0 d4 b+ kpolicy.
; g4 m/ U7 ]' E) m) L& g& `
& ]+ B3 j! ^/ q; ^4) Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge  
6 i: \, P# M8 w; Lcard transactions.
3 L$ g; c& s8 O9 y6 a" `' w0 ^
( D( T" m; D' O, U  N5) Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a  
) n+ ~8 ?% W( B+ o7 Pprofessional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Union Position

Wage: $7.00/hour (under negotiation) plus 50% discount on food  
purchased at SU outlets to be eaten on shift break
