BARTENDER - Room At The Top (RATT) - includes some serving

22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday  6 g+ m7 i1 F- T7 b2 h$ u- E8 L
through Friday

8 y. Y2 U. I& m- dJOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  ( R! ]; N) q! b1 d* I; D. ~' m
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
5 t/ B- A) T1 X( a. N9 t5 P) @procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  
5 Q2 o1 x5 D6 ?) O9 Jcleanliness and order in the bar.

7 o/ @' B4 U, t5 x! K% G2 V4 q4 [DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:4 X) I( N4 ^. \$ Y0 m; a
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  - x! _8 `# h1 M% l
beverage items.

5 w) X! B9 ], F% u6 U  P, V2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the  9 w9 @6 o$ d( J/ A
bar and debit floats.
# @& N9 m* o* b+ D% k" O- O1 F! L/ ?0 C# E  q
3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  " {3 E) F+ ?4 c7 y' \
each shift, and upon closing.

" m* l6 ?' @; G9 Z4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular  
" |5 f8 b1 q7 J8 j+ |# Cattention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
9 D& t% S5 A8 h1 p7 M1 iseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.

' @* M/ n; U! D0 G# _/ O5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  : D, m/ c5 \5 f" Z; e( U, _
storage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  
0 d  B1 y) O/ d& y# L4 l( x2 x6 sproducts, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.2 K9 X& W  m9 y' R  u$ S
' R. v+ m& s6 I8 s1 P5 s; Y. d
6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close    [/ E0 H9 u( o. |0 u
monitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
# [- V+ e. q1 a* a/ g- A+ Y* K, [high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  
' _' h$ J+ l# v2 Naccordance with Students' Union policies.

. y* G. ]/ O3 l0 o9 ^) N7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  * }5 l( B: T3 w
high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.

! ]: T( l1 O9 R" l) x, k% m/ a3 V( x1 BAuthority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.6 o+ g% {/ J8 v

QUALIFICATIONS:7 }6 y) f4 _7 Y+ `; u% i1 M
1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.( ]% r; x# }' K" ~! ?' C

8 B  f) `. Y) ~( t2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  
6 S" h' L4 I* l; d$ N1 Moperation.1 P; l) L1 \9 Z9 m5 N5 R
4 k/ P) r0 `/ t' `/ H& h/ V* B
3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
8 }. E* H$ j( a6 \# O1 {; d0 Faccordance with Students' Union policy., o0 K4 t8 X! M/ N' d1 F$ {! l
( g5 R, b+ C7 x/ A1 F+ K
4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.

5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  
  g+ q/ W, Z* ^1 D4 j, {Union staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic  
4 ~+ _8 C7 j$ L0 a" G9 ^attitude.2 w# a  O, n: v8 l4 p5 d- H; x0 w
