22.5 hours a week - Hours from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., Monday  , _# ]: l" b8 `( _) T
through Friday

JOB SUMMARY:  Responsible to and under the general supervision of the  1 f. i* y& c" r# v9 E2 Y
Operations Manager, the Bartender is responsible for carrying out the  
$ b3 G1 j7 l/ O; r- [+ N/ iprocedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service,  6 Q2 c3 b& ^+ y! K' d" A
cleanliness and order in the bar.: |" \" {5 U/ s. ]2 r

' a" G9 W( A$ K/ y! v6 b8 r7 g. |DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:& F2 D2 s0 }; r; k/ b
1) Provides service to Servers and customers by dispensing food and  
: J. f% f- `% q4 b' t3 i( j3 d  {beverage items.
  |8 s4 o9 @( q, p" ~+ [0 @4 M; ^$ L% V: E! A" T- v/ l3 [
2) Responsible for handling cash for the products sold, and for the    c1 J: G7 _) n) y6 C) W: ?9 [0 h
bar and debit floats.

& ?( m6 S. `1 S6 W( Y3 g0 y3) Opens and closes the bar - counts floats and sales at the end of  
1 P9 x/ b2 x4 \+ y6 beach shift, and upon closing.

* ^* L# P& W$ q- _4) Cleanliness of all areas, supplies and equipment, with particular    k" O) b# p3 V' t
attention to areas used by customers including bar counters and  
4 O1 X- w( S0 u+ [- b0 Mseating, tables and chairs and surrounding floor surfaces.
, O  b5 y+ o7 K  e8 l( r7 W1 c8 j  x; a& k5 J1 x  K
5) Receives orders from suppliers, rotating stock as required in  
# ~& @0 @; K' e* A5 E+ kstorage areas.   Restocks kegs, back-bar beer coolers and all alcohol  : U* v6 R8 M$ N! X/ p2 x. y
products, serving supplies and condiments at the end of each shift.

' A! @2 e# l: c/ ?: o( }6) Supervision of staff, with particular attention to close  
* g" ]/ U: a9 R6 b! t0 dmonitoring of Servers to ensure that customers consistently receive a  
$ x4 c  ?# i. zhigh level of customer service offered with a positive attitude in  2 |8 k5 ~. `3 R  e2 d. U3 D: B
accordance with Students' Union policies.9 Y+ `% z) W' w4 c+ T8 M& H% Q

) s. W/ P$ _( \5 u7) Training part-time staff in a manner consistent with maintaining a  
2 D1 x/ [9 ?* {4 |  L; z* f3 i) G  [high standard of customer service and effective operation of the room.# F, e. ?2 O  S6 F7 a
To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Capital Health  
/ |) B  e" ]4 k7 i0 {1 m7 ]Authority Act, U of A and Students´ Union regulations and policies.  J) j8 G! k: e) |; H

* |& k% [; ?) o& t9) Other job related duties as required by the Operations Manager,  
$ B1 \& r9 K; J: e0 V4 JSenior Operations Manager and Senior Manager.% Z: I0 b' o( a9 T$ F; J' Z: K
& W( j+ z; M( J8 U. q6 q; p  f( B7 F

: P1 V, r6 Y0 _7 ^" P$ ?QUALIFICATIONS:
  p6 R% F; Y! q9 r) [# K! J9 E6 D% v1) Minimum Alberta Grade XII or equivalent.2 D7 }0 C. N9 J3 y& S' S6 K, k/ s

) z' u0 n5 n: t$ }: U% k/ x2) Minimum of two years experience bartending in a high-volume  * }: C6 y6 Z0 S& i: S, K
operation.0 r: V8 i( x0 F6 p
! W$ b/ P5 u8 T
3) Excellent work habits, appearance, personal hygiene and dress in  
& h! d2 a. Z' c0 w' n& Laccordance with Students' Union policy.- g; U  b8 Q  G" H& b% ]; i7 j
2 g5 \, g+ A5 T& E$ Z6 y, s
4) Good physical condition, the ability to handle full beer kegs.
% e( F3 ~+ [$ C( ]9 n9 t' r; S/ {" X8 x8 q# W0 e
5) Ability to interact effectively with all customers and Students´  0 v; U  q& E3 p
Union staff while presenting a friendly, respectful and diplomatic
