ACTION FOR HEALTHY COMMUNITIES (AHC) is recruiting students (preferably members of a visible minority community and/or of a Disability community) for the following summer position: Community Initiatives Documenter. We are a non-profit community development organization operating in central Edmonton. We promote community inclusion as a strategy for increasing citizenship participation and action.

Community Initiatives Documenter

KThe CI Documenter will contact and meet leaders of 30 Community Initiatives (mini-projects) to discuss and document their progress to date, facilitate a planning process for each CI to sustain their outcomes, and create a final document analyzing CI trends, strengths, learnings and plans.2 o' C; `. r& s5 v. j( y, j6 V

Education Background: Health Promotion, Sociology, or related Social/Human Sciences field.

1. Full-time college or university student, under 30 years of age before and after the position and not attending full-time classes while participating in their placement.( P- }+ Y3 ^& _$ S" S2 I
2. Legally entitled to work according to relevant federal and provincial legislation and regulations.+ `5 G5 _6 x2 j3 P. ^' n
3. Good organizational and verbal and written communication skills.6 _# P3 a+ m) H' n% m/ W. O
4. Team player and also able to work independently. Able to deal proactively with change and achieve goals through coordination with other people.# _9 j% a8 k; ~/ _! m
