The Organization: Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! is a registered nonprofit
society led by a youth board of directors to enhance/encourage youth
volunteerism in Alberta. By working with nonprofit organizations/youth
  U5 R7 a) Y5 n7 ^3 S6 Nages 14-24, we foster collaboration between motivated youth,
organizations and citizens wanting to build healthier societies and more
sustainable communities.

9 [  l) Z8 f0 G1 c; b% }Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
and leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
/ P0 C7 A8 \, m5 n( e% Inon-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
6 `- _# n6 o6 `4 ~8 ?3 }policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
affairs at all times.

) {. t- @/ `  S' r7 p6 H$ sPrimary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
  N7 J9 [" s4 T# h( s$ Y$ {; _# Wvision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
& s, _5 I8 q  _7 zarrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
6 ]0 b' Y* K: A/ ]: M7 Imedia/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
! F; q- p# o2 T) b. w. }) j, ?to implement the organizational policies.

; |! `# S* H7 M, T5 UPLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
/ F  v$ n1 Y0 D. yas per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
6 \8 Y* _1 p$ ~( U. W3 B: Xservices; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
the right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
- v6 }) u' u5 S5 Lthe funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
' @# r7 s6 Z6 p: D( N! y: ~, Xpayable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
) H. w' r1 R1 b1 i6 ?, {0 V+ dthe organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

0 P2 `* v1 L+ h  k- A. XKey Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
8 w" s" t! V" {, pincluding a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
/ p- |4 j; _7 f; r2 q$ lorganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
. L+ l/ ^# w# q* q2 A. swork in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
5 }, l6 y) P7 l, ~% q: Cmanaging projects and budgets.

9 q# }/ F* J8 a9 N* D# M  @PLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
processes an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing

with youth.
