The Organization: Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! is a registered nonprofit
society led by a youth board of directors to enhance/encourage youth

4 R5 |. Z( n2 x4 Mages 14-24, we foster collaboration between motivated youth,
/ X( C8 G6 t  g6 d: g0 Horganizations and citizens wanting to build healthier societies and more

* M; }7 F! u# C  i0 x4 f6 mPosition Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
! f6 o9 R0 |/ E7 C# K5 Tand leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a
9 l" c% F! Z/ Y9 t- }non-voting member and champions youth volunteerism in Alberta.  The ED
2 ~! i+ l; R- S4 Uworks within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and
! T4 K  f" c- P) Ipolicies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's
affairs at all times.

Primary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative
: i, X7 \+ J4 |' Q. g1 rarrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
media/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
for the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures
to implement the organizational policies.

PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
. D+ Q3 A$ U9 L4 V2 e$ \as per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
9 N8 h7 R$ ^+ z6 w- S# g8 e7 Jservices; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have
the right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the
0 I) N  @& s7 D) ~1 Rdevelopment of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer
the funds of the organization & monitor the monthly cash flow; Ensure
that bookkeeping/accounting practices are followed; Process accounts
& e% D3 J2 D, J; E  |payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of
the organization & its programs; Work with website contractor/developer.

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
partners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
9 P. O( e( [+ [6 ]0 [' K1 aorganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
work in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
. A+ ]/ s  m! b2 _7 A) rmanaging projects and budgets.

PLUS: Creative approach to marketing; Understanding of board governance
processes an asset; Experience obtaining sponsorship and writing
- H, o  Y; v3 y& z9 Xproposals; A youthful spirit and enthusiasm for championing and working
with youth.
