Position Abstract: The Executive Director provides day-to-day management
$ p% Q9 [; w6 Eand leadership of Alberta's YouthVOLUNTEER! (AYV!). The ED is a

works within the structures set by the organization's bylaws and7 K% M: m4 d( B, y
policies to ensure ethical and professional management of organization's

* P3 Q6 A9 Z1 b! f# TPrimary Responsibilities: Helps Board of Directors in developing a+ c5 Y9 h4 d3 l! k
vision & strategic plan; Establish strong relationships & collaborative) d1 Y% Q; m, Q: o7 Z0 u
arrangements with community groups, sponsors, governments, schools,
* G) F3 u5 B8 f" Vmedia/other stakeholders to achieve the goals of AYV!; Prepare reports
( p" H3 E2 ~' u' yfor the Board; Assist the Board in drafting policies/prepare procedures E, U8 L! \8 {" i0 G
to implement the organizational policies.

PLUS: Ensure good record keeping; Ensure funders' grants are stewarded
* J3 B6 q1 G$ m& i4 K, Gas per their requirements; Plan, implement and evaluate programs and
) P8 q6 d. r( W. ] f/ Y- Iservices; Recruit, interview, select & coach staff/volunteers that have3 c7 R7 \$ f, K& q- W2 g2 F# Z2 |2 Z8 `& G
the right abilities to help further the organization's mission.

In addition: Prepare budget; Search & secure adequate; oversees the2 t$ U9 s$ \8 c
development of fundraising plans/writing funding proposals; Administer

payable; Develop communication/marketing tools to increase awareness of

Key Qualifications: Experience working with a number of different groups) W2 A" n% @# J9 q/ A6 D! j: F
including a Board of Directors, non-profit organizations, government
L0 C; p' `# I3 ]) Hpartners sponsors, employees, volunteers, and youth; Understanding of
. D6 o) L+ J5 E) R0 U6 ?. V q$ @ Corganizational financial management and CRA requirements; Ability to
, A: t4 R. U Cwork in a self-directed work environment; Experience planning and
" g( x; ~2 ^7 Zmanaging projects and budgets.
